Smart Pedestal Fan Options?

Hi guys, looking to buy a decent quality fan.

Not keen on tower fans as most seem quite wobbly and not that powerful.

So looking at brand-name pedestal fans and really surprised as to the lack of smart fans available in this type.

Anyone with any decent recommendations? Ideally DC motor, multiple speed settings (5+ would be nice), and timer options.

My back up plan is to go with the Kambrook 40cm Arctic Pedestal Fan and pair it up with a smart plug. Won't get the DC motor or multiple speed settings, but will allow me to use timer.

Cheers!

  • Following. I am keen on a tower fan though to avoid the general bulk and flimsyness that usually comes with pedestal fans but keen to hear recommendations.

With the desirable Xiaomi not readily available, I referred a friend to this one via Amazon but I won't get a review until later this month

    • Reviews?

      • I managed to get a non-battery Xiaomi but they're OOS again. I still haven't visited my mate's place to check out the yarratwo but by all accounts it's entirely satisfactory. The battery died in one of my Xiaomis and I can't source a replacement.

    • Have you had the chance to review the Yarratwo fan ? I'm looking at getting one and trying to see if its worth it, since it ticks all the boxes for me.

      • Sorry to say I haven't yet seen or heard it in-person, but gather it's totally fine. Also 13dB(A) in sleep mode compared to the Xiaomi 30dB(A)

      • I bought a yarratwo fan from Amazon and it literally just got delivered. So far it seems to run fine. The build quality is nothing to write home about but it's fairly quiet at the first two of four levels which is basically all I need it to do. It's basically silent on the first fan setting. From comparing images, I would think that both the Xiaomi and yarratwo fans come out of the same factory in China but with some small differences based on who's asking for it to be made.

I bought it as well, placed the order on a Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, they had delivered it. So far been using it for a week, definitely much quieter to the AC fan that i have been using, and exactly what i was after, a fan where i can integrate it with Home Assistant and have it turn on and will continue on with the speed it was previously at.

I guess with the design it was designed to be compact, but for me, if they have one that was a size up, would be perfect but overall would recommend !

  • Been looking for DC pedestal fans the last week or so but the popular ones aren't available anymore and there are limited options atm

  • If it's for a warehouse can look at something like the Mercator Airbond DC (Commercial) Pedestal Fan (DC, 19 Speeds, 80 deg oscillation, remote control, 1h - 9h timer).

For at home, maybe check out the:
    Breville the AirDynamic 3D

It has the smart features you are after and is DC but personally I like your idea of a smart switch because instead if always setting up the timer you can program your smart switch to turn off and on on schedules and also can get a WiFi connected one where you can remotely activate it or turn it off.. Maybe even integrate it with Siri/Google/Alexa.

  • Yeah I have been trying to source a Xiaomi Fan 2/3 but seems 0 stock anywhere. Wonder what happened?

    • I agree, so bizarre. I've been looking to get another Xiaomi or Viomi fan and nothing. Heck, I can't even find any DC fan for sale apart from the Yarratwo one mentioned by sumyungguy and even that is sold out now.

  • Stumbled across this when my mum asked me about my Xaioni Fan 2S - no stock anywhere! Seems weird it’s an awesome unit

  • I'm in the same boat, looking for a wifi fan. The Yarratwo seems to be the only real option right now but I can't find enough info from others about it's level of smart home integration from anyone but the manufacturer, it's available on Amazon.com.au for $145.99. The alternative option is to get the De'Longhi 360° Pedestal Cooling Fan for $179 and just use a Broadlink or similar IR blaster to connect to Google/Alexa/Home Assistant.
