If you posted your referral at the same time as someone else you can still use the other persons referral as long as you complete one entry using their link. I usually complete one action and then post my referral link before completing the rest so I can still use someone elses if I missed theirs.

Are you sure about that? My understanding was that once you have entered the competition you are no longer referrable. In the same way that you cannot be invited as a referral to any other service if you already have an account.
If you have a referral link I still haven't done all my entries so I can test it for you. It has worked for me and friends in the past.
