  I have always used Parker when writing was still a thing…aka school. Are these refillable like a syringe?

    Come with one plastic cartridge of ink.
    My cartridge was empty and ink was everywhere. Box was squashed too.
    Mine wouldn't work with a new cartridge as it was gummed up with dried ink.
    Had to wash the nib etc and eventually have it working.
    Would not recommend purchasing these through Amazon . Try Peter's of Kensington.

    I've been using a LAMY fountain pen for four years now. Never had to use a cartridge, except for the one the pen came with.

    You just need to buy one of these: https://lamyshop.com.au/collections/refills/products/lamy-z2…

    And a pot of ink. It makes it a refillable cartridge. Works reliably enough, never had any issues. I clean mine once every year.

      Same for me, had a lamy safari (plastic version of this pen) for years with a refillable cartridge, easy to find at most stationary shops.
      Just an occasional clean with water before a refill.
