Another Wera tool that may be gimmicky for some but highly useful for others.

The amount of times I have needed this and have been waiting for a good price.

Useful for hose clamps that are awkward to get to.

It's probably not a standard home tool, but those who deal with this on home appliances or cars will know its value.

    Interesting… Note in the photo it shows an 8mm… Maybe the 7mm is uncommon?

    • +1

      Hey, good point. Will see if I can find out more. I'm thinking 7mm and wrong photo as some of the comments reflect the 7mm version

    • +1

      There is a 8mm one here.

    • +3

      8mm is here…

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Wera-05028152001-Flexible-nutspinn…

      Reviews reflect poor flexibility on this tool

      • Was about to make the same comment. Quite a few reviews (even the 5 star one) suggest it's not that flexible.

    • Its for an M4 nut. I have a fair few 7mm sockets for gland plates at work and 1/16 RC car wheels at home

    • seems 7mm is EU and 8mm is US/AU, this if for the 7mm, 8mm also made by wera.

  • +1

    There's also a set of 7 nut setters for $40 if you don't need a flexible shaft (ozbargainers who have bought in the past confirm it's a set) https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B00154Y0MY/

    • That's a great find. Considering the reviews about poor flex, this might be a better deal

    • I saw that set too but what exactly do you get? Could not find any size range in the listing

      • +2

        I think it's this set https://www.totaltools.com.au/205313-wera-5-13mm-nutdriver-s…

        1 x 5.0x90;
        1 x 5.5x90;
        1 x 6.0x90;
        1 x 7.0x90;
        1 x 8.0x90;
        1 x 10.0x90;
        1 x 13.0x90

        If it's not that set I'll just return it. Listing is ambiguous enough that it shouldn't be a problem.

          Did some more searching after I commented and was about to post the same link 👍

        • I think you're right about the set.

          The day before I mentioned it, it was sitting in my cart as like, $134 RRP with like 6X % off. Then when I went to buy the next day, it only shows the current like "7% off' that it's at now.

    • I bought this set for my work kit, great set of gear. Also the hollow shaft is great for getting nuts off too long bolts.

  • What size nuts are on most pipe clamps?

    • Depends, usually 6,7 and 8mm. Changes with diameter of hose

    • +1

      They can be various sizes of metric or imperial. The cheap ones can be all sorts of odd sizes that nothing fits.

  • Not sure what its for , i just bought it.

    • +3

      Clampin' hoes

    • I’m about to also “just in case” I need it one day

    These bargains are Wera-ing me out!

    • +1

      You screwed that up.

  • +3

    Pretty sure my socket set has a flexible extension bit… must admit have used it a few times

  • Don't most clamp screws come with Phillips head anyway so very rare to use hose clamp screws unless no space

    • Most are flat head, but yeah, you can still do the same job with a screwdriver. It's just a little more awkward.

    • Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

      • well the flat head or phillips there for a reason… if not then they wouldn't make it that way

    Was hoping for the Wera Flexible Shaft with Bit Holder.

  • My new dream tool for works on me motorbycicle

    • Good to get the seat off, as long as you get the right size.

      • Exactly

      • right size is the issue .

        • Just gotta' collect them all I guess.. 😅

          At first I thought it was like a square drive end to hold onto sockets which would probably be more useful..

          Edit: Like RichardL mentioned above, probably better to look out for this one or even this one

  • then to find in garage when needed. or just use 1/4” socket set with universal joint ? seems they also have the 8mm on sale ….other option is toledo clamp screwdriver set at total tools or just tools for under $20 and it comes with 3 sockets so covered for euro and us/au nut sizes.

  • This is one of the most niche tools I’ve ever seen.

  • Dont know what it is or what it does, but its Wera so…..buy

    • And this is why we have inflation.

      • +1

        This website is why we have inflation

    Something interesting I only just figured out about hose clamps is that you can cut them to size and they still work.

    No more hunting for just the right size
