A good deal on the Wera Stainless 3950 PKL/9 Ball-Point Metric Hex-Plus.

This is a Prime Deal on Amazon and the item is delivered from Amazon UK.

The usual price for this item is much higher although I don't know the exact price. As a guide Total Tools has this set at $90.90 and their website states that they price match too. https://www.totaltools.com.au/188846-wera-39509-hex-plus-sta…

Enjoy!

Thanks mate, that's what I needed!

        Wish I needed it.. 😅

Tempting. My $10 Craftright set are perfectly good but the plastic holder is trash and irritating to use.

    • Same with my Gearwrench and Kinchrome keys… In a toolbag or tool box, Bondhus or nothing for me

      • +2

I have Bondhus sets but prefer these. The shaft is larger than the hex bit making it flex less and is a bit longer allowing for more leverage. I was cautious about whether stainless steel could be as durable as whatever steel the black keys are made from, but they seem to be holding up and sure are sexy.

        • +2

Bondhus keys are Protanium steel for sockets torx and hex… stainless is for fasteners and marine use imho. I prefer durability over sexy and OZBargainers highly overrate wera

    These come free from Ikea

  • Normal price from amazon AU is $34.25, so this is 7% off…?

Can anyone tell me why this is worth it? Especially at that ~$90 mark? Do these really do the job, hold their socket shape, etc. that much better?

    • Yes to all of it, I can't justify the original price but it's heads and shoulders over the cheap sets and recommend at this price. Good feel, no stripped bolts, if you're getting into bike maintenance then probably single best purchase I've made

    • +1

They typically sit around $50 or a bit more on Amazon if you look at Camel. Not sure where they got that normal price from - This is also about as cheap as they get according to their price history

    • When (not if) you strip a bolt with cheap keys and spend an age trying to extricate it then, and only then, will you wish you'd used these. They will also last you a lifetime.

      • -1

These are cheap keys and won't last a lifetime.

        • I was referring to the Wera set lasting. I ended the first sentence by referring to the deal, the second sentence also referred to the deal.

Does anyone know if Wera have a hex key holder? These are great tools for the price but I wish there was a holder that made them easier to use, something like a T-handle or standard hex holder

  • I have the same set but with the coloured body. I actually prefer the body to be hexagonal rather than round as I more often than not use these in a greasy environment and it's too slippery to work with a round body trying to orient the head without it spinning around when you don't want it to.

  • This deal is still on.

But note that Amazon AU is also selling this exact same item for a whopping $88.22! Just saying.
