Anyone own this and can vouch for video quality?

I don't know much about these, but for those interested there is a similar model also highly rated also on sale

now at Amazon for $109 after $20 discount coupon. Not really sure how different they are from same brand,

    but both highly rated.

    • You do realise a lot of Amazon reviews are fabricated?

      • Of course, many…..

  • I would say $139 was the original price as that is what I paid a few months ago

You don't need this code. The deal at $127.00 is a lightning deal. The code is to save 5% off if you buy 2.

  • Can you keep these plugged in and record?

Wouldn't even bother buying, review here: https://www.rtings.com/camera/reviews/akaso/brave-4

The fact it can't get even get to full 4k recording resolution means it's probably interpolated 4k, i.e. fake 4k. Probably a 2k sensor blown up to 4k resolution.

Not the same as true 4k.

  • Put it towards an osmo action 4 instead, it’s a jillion times better.

Not speaking from experience, just from reviews I've seen.

If you are just wanting to take the odd video/photo of family or things of interest for yourself, then this may be ok. (keep in mind you need the housing case for it to be water proof)
How long will this last? who knows.. resell value? no way.

If you are wanting to post video/photos on social media or flex then I'd stay away from this and just get a GoPro. As adrianhughes mentioned, this does not record in true 4k so the quality would not be the best that you can achieve. GoPro at lease you know you're going to get years of usage out of it and can fairly easily re-sell when/if you decide to upgrade.

  • I have this (bought in 2019 for $107), def not 4k, (closer to 2.7k) but actually pretty good quality picture/video. Case is also reasonable (have used it in rain and snow), and if you end up scratching the lens (bouncing around on a backpack in the back of a ute without it's case) they are reasonably easy/cheap to replace.
