Looking to buy a basic home laptop for surfing, word processing, watching movies etc.

I would pick oled display for movies if you don't need the touchscreen
Because the evo touch model doesn’t actually swivel the screen out and let it use as a tablet, i wont go for the touchscreen version.
Go with OLED
