Not sure if the words 'Bose' and 'bargain' can every really be said together….

Hey Jackson, Ive allowed my PM to come through, when you get a chance to try out a few noise cancelling headphones and decide that you are wrong. please pm me =)

    • There is always a Bose or Beats hater out there trolling who has never even touch a Bose or Beats product.

      • -1

Indeed, but I like to think that even Bose or Beats fans are smart enough to recognise that for sound quality alone, these two brands are greatly overpriced. You're paying for image, branding, and noise cancellation. Not to say that these factors are unimportant, but rather that when it comes to discussions about headphones, they often end up focussing on sound quality alone for price.

Sound quality is in the ear of the beer holder.

  • Sooo… Are these any good?

    • IMHO they are excellent, do a search and check the reviews. But even at this price are they value for money??? In saying that if you can spare the cash this is a good price.

I agree that Bose have made some overpriced, low quality products in the past. But, if you fly a lot, these 15's are sensational.

  • it's interesting that this product is shipped from HK.

what are the chances that this product is counterfeit product?

    • Yes that's interesting. Definitely going to ring Boss and check the serials once received the product.

      Update:

received the product yesterday, rang Bose this morning to verify the serial no, they told this product is manufactured in 2009 according to serial no.

They cant say 100% that the product is Original or counterfeit just by checking serial no.

you have to take it to store manually to verify it.

      watch this space.

      • I will take it to Boss Camberwell to check this weekend.

  • I just received it and am very suspicious it is a fake. Because I put my serial number into the Bose website and it shows as being a QC3!!

edit: I also note that upon inspection of the second cord that is still sealed in its plastic wrapper, on the back of the volume control where the small holes are for the mic that the plastic looks a bit like someones finger had glue on it and touched this bit.

    • I'm going to take them in to a Bose shop soon too. I spoke with a Bose Australia rep calling the 1800 number, and he said it's pretty hard to tell if it's fake just from the serial number, even when it is coming up as a QC3 instead of QC15 he did just kept repeating it's too hard to say.

BUT if they are fake they are working pretty good as NC headphones as they are blocking out the airconditioning noise in the office.

    • Post a close up photo.

The staff @ Boss Camberwell confirmed it is fake for the following reasons:
    - The color on the box is washed out
    - The font of "Quiet Comfort 15" on the unit is different from the real one
    - The build quality is not as good
    - The on/off button is smooth on the real unit
    - The ear cushions falls off easily on the fake one
    - Unable to fully insert the cable into the unit

  • yes, the product is fake.

Fetch Express were happy to refund the total amount - shipping.

I am asking refund of total amount incl shipping, if not I will dispute with paypal.

  • Yes, it's a fake. I took it to Bose retailler and did a side by side comparison.
