Lighting My Storage/Crawlspace with Battery or Plug in LEDs

Hi folks,

I'm looking for inspiration to light the crawlspace under my house. I'm on a slope and can store quite a lot under there. Part of getting it organised well will involve lighting it.

Who's done this cost effectively and what did you use?

I have ample powerpoints down there. Options I've considered so far:
- several LED sensor wand/boad lights (probably the easiest option but wouldn't light the overall space, which I think will help keep it organised - if I can see everything down there)
- long strings of LED lights with appropriate driver (maybe not enough light power)
- getting an electrician to wire in light bulbs (more costly)

    LED switch light from bunnings.

Plenty of options like this with zero installation cost.

I started with battery lights with sensors. But eventually I converted to mains power which turn on when the door is ajar to the crawl space that lights up the entire area to make it easier to find stuff.

This as you save for it.Use mains transformed LED strips until you get there. That will give you time to work out where you want lights etc. Think about other sparky jobs at the same time to value add to the opportunity. More power-points there, and elsewhere, ceiling fans etc

Plug in batten light/LED COB. Plenty of options out there. Essentially a standard ceiling/flood light with a normal plug wired to the end instead of bare wires. Just run an extension cord along the floor joists & plug them all in. If it doesn't need to be pretty you can save the sparky callout.
