Last Week's Coles Catalog? for Chemist Warehouse Lowest Price Guarantee Claim

Hi, trying to provide proof to Chemist Warehouse of the price at Coles last week to support my Lowest Price Guarantee price beat claim with Chemist Warehouse.

I'm actually not sure if this was listed in the catalog, but I'm thinking this is my best bet - to see if anyone here has saved a copy of the Coles catalog ending 26 Dec 2023. My other option is to reach out to Coles to ask them to provide me some sort of proof.. if they would even entertain such a request.

The two items I'm trying to get the price of are:

  • Ostelin Vitamin D 130 capsules @ $13.94
  • Cenovis Iron Plus 80 tablets @ $8

The current Coles prices are currently double that, hence why I can't just take a live screenshot

Any other suggestions are welcome!

This really doesn't seem worth your time… but you could have just searched "Coles catalog ending 26 Dec 2023" and first result gives you all 47 pages: https://www.mycatalogue.info/coles-specials/

There's also the Boxing Day catalog in case that helps: https://www.mycatalogue.info/coles-boxing-day-sales/

    • This really doesn't seem worth your time

Yea it's crossed my mind too and then I realised I had already started compiling all the info + drafting the email, might as well finish it

Ahhh thanks for that! I was using the wrong keywords. I actually used these keywords so I did try before posting:

      • historical supermarket catalogs
      • historical coles catalog
      • last week's coles catalog
      • archive supermarket catalogs

I'll have a look, thank you!

      • Haha if it saves money it saves money.

Remember a few years ago some guy told his wife or gf to use the remaining gift card balance, from memory it was only a few cents or 20 cents or something like that

lol….good luck. they can just knock it back at their discretion

  • $15.74 for the Ostelin

    $8.49 for the cenovis

…are you trying to price match for a whole $2 discount?
    …am i missing something??

  • Or you could just eat a balanced diet.

    • Or move in with bargain huntress. Perfect match?

Wouldn't a price match be on the current competitor's price, not on a historical price?

Otherwise, you could use last year's Coles catalogue.

    • Trying to match it based on the price of the competitor on the day of order

  • There's Ozbargaining and then there's this…

    • $2 mate….

      • Apologies, you're completely right.

        • imagine how often the op does this….theres probably a photo of them at the counter at chemistwarehouse

@franco cozzo: Would give them $2 as soon as they walked in the door just to not put up with it.

      • I don’t know. $2 for 3 hours of effort doesn’t sound appealing.

I'm quite baffled by the hate tbh 😂

Why are the reactions like I'm committing a crime? Why are people valuing my time on my behalf? I'm knowingly "wasting" my time. Whether I should have or not is another matter

I have to say, it doesn't feel like (other than the first comment) it's coming from a good place either. It's not to help but merely to criticise/judge. I don't feel any sense of "it's criticism for your own good" cause I'm certainly not able interpret what the suggested alternative/change is.

If you have some suggestions as to what should be done instead, I'm all ears.

Welcome to the internet new user. It's the time between Christmas and New year's where we have nothing better to do!

      • Lol. Appreciate the honesty

    • My constructive suggestion would be to drop it and enjoy your time doing something you like. I’m all for savings but only if it doesn’t cost me more in time and effort.
Most people would pay $2 for 1 or 2 hours of personal time. I know I would.

A couple of years ago I tried to price match with the coles catalogue. I was told that coles was a grocery store and they were a chemist. They only price match competitors, and their competitors were other chemists, not coles.
