Be prepared to recharge almost everyday
Yeah the 40mm model should never have existed, the extra 4mm of the 44mm doesnt sound like it would make a difference, but having owned one and a female friend owning at 40mm, the difference is noticeable in battery life, she ended up returning it
Indeed. Its shockingly bad
extra 4mm
She would have agreed
I like my 40mm. It's the right size for my wrist and I don't care about charging every day as I don't like wearing watches to bed as I find it uncomfortable. I had the active then this watch4 and I recently upgraded to watch6 all 40mm.
turn off "always on display"
turn on "raise wrist to wake"
i can get 2 days out of it
this is the 44mm model btw
for ultra savings:
turn off mobile LTE if not using it (i dont)
turn off raise wrist
turn on tap to wake
turn off "hey google" in assistant settings, or turn it off completely to save even more
if you dont use Bixby, and no human should, and you know how to use adb and connect to the watch via wifi (pain in the bum with new pairing requirement first), you can also disable Bixby and other useless stuff (i have a long script that removes stuff):
adb shell pm disable-user —user 0 com.samsung.android.bixby.agent
adb shell pm disable-user —user 0 com.samsung.android.bixby.wakeup
i gave mine to a friend and got a Watch 5 Pro second hand from one of those cashed up folk who can afford to buy something and decide they dont like it 6 hours later and go buy a different one, not a mark on it… $250 :)
So basically turn off the watch
@U30004: its all because the battery tech we have now is the same what we have since dinosaurs age. plus wear os is eating dinosaurs like candy if you get what i mean. go garmin or tizen instead but less pretty.
yeah so sad we buy $$$ smart watch and wear it as dumb watch, and the corporations are still getting away selling it as smart watch and say up to xxx days battery yeah right
@U30004: not by any means, i have everything else on and working….just limiting/disabling all the apps or services that poll for changes in the background, thats what chews battery
raise to wake is hugely wasteful, turns on the screen whenever you change wrist position, screen on = battery usage spike…any time the screen is on, as its usually the largest user of battery is an obvious thing to curtail
i get about 4 days between charges on the 5 Pro LTE
@amosmilburn: How do you check time without touching the watch then?
@U30004: you cant
@U30004: touch to wake….as unlike the raise to wake movement, it requires you to tap it to actuate, therefore less false triggers
also extra top tip, want temp screen brightness boost outside in the sun - triple tap the screen - i have my brightness set on a fixed manual level (not automatic), and then use the triple tap trick when i need to see the screen in the sun

There are various possible explanations for this:
You are browsing and clicking at a speed much faster than expected of a human being.
Laser is faster then human
Than* (couldn't help it like the German doctor who shoots Monsieur Candy)
Lol
I'd say the best one was the Galaxy Watch S5 LTE around 1.5 weeks ago. $200 for all that goodness (minus the bezel) was a great bargain.
not the secret sale GW6 ?
