  • Fantastic! I've heard good things, so just putting in my first order now for 17kg/31 rolls of various sizes, mainly Shittament.

    Just a couple of questions.
On the Shittament product pages, you state "Shittament Filaments are clearance filaments purchased from the manufacturer and sold at their cost price + 20%", but on your transparency page (love that you have one and it's got all issues btw) regarding the free shipping code, you state "*Free shipping valid on all items but Shittaments as Im only cost + 40% on them".
    Just wondering if it's 20% or 40%?

And what material is 'Flexible Natural', I'm guessing TPU?

A few beers in when I made that and I will fix that shortly,

Full transparency the clearance cost for a 4.99 roll for example is 3.56$ aud including frieght and customs, but that doesn’t account for packing materials such as tape, boxes, me unloading them, man hours

So by default it’s 40% but after factoring human labour it’s more like 10-20% as they just dump the rolls into random boxes, so basically I have to sort all the clearance rolls which there is 45 types and then pack them all taking up 2-4 working days.

If based purely on margins and numbers 40% hard limit

If based on man hours as low as 5% for PC to as much as 35% for the petg (petg cost price normally even is around 7$ with shipping, that’s the price I pay for my full price rolls, so I make about 10$ on the normal petg section excluding packing, tape, addons and taxes)

      • Great, thanks for the transparency :)

The flexible shittament I have honestly no idea, I’ve done about 3 clearance group buys so far and it seems to be some type of pla that’s stretchy but not tpu, it’s a strange one and some people in the past clearance sales had a few issues with it.

      • Interesting… I'm curious to see how it prints and how flexible it is.

I guess it'd absorb moisture slowly like PLA and dehydrate the same temp then?

again im not terribly sure what it exactly is, but let me check with the manufactuers and see what they say. it should be tpu

Sidd is great to deal with, as can be seen from his replies in this thread

  • Commented on the previous Siddament post about the lack of GST on the website transaction. Looking at volume the ABN should definitely be registered for GST, just wondering why it's missing from the checkout and invoice?

    • +1

Currently under an active audit from the ATO actually everything is smooth so far.

With the GST it’s still not being charged but its been set aside so it will be cleared up shortly but for now the accountants are accounting and I believe the ato resolution is sometime next to next week.

Regarding the site, it’s siting, and the marketing is marketing. It gets the job done and well if I’m always sold out it doesn’t need a change no matter how baity it be looking

      • Unfortunately first step an accountant will say at your self professed volume (200k stock ordered monthly) will do is register you for GST, especially given how far over the threshold at the transparent margins you are on. The ATO will expect this immediately as a show of good faith to resolve issues going forward.

ABN 99 127 717 138 is not registered for GST still.

It's a no go for me given the running concern of a business that suddenly has a 1/11 sized hole in all transactions, and as a business that can't claim this back on our activity statements. Thanks for commenting and being transparent though, i'll keep an eye on the website and ABN and once the GST is present there go back to ordering given your filament and service quality is so high.
Apologies on the website comment on the previous post, scam websites are very common these days so I have built up a bunch of red flags that warrant further investigation, lack of an ABN / ACN on the website was the top one.

        • Haha no stress, the gst stuff should be fixed 🔜 so yeah definitely keep an eye on it.

I do agree with the site being a pain to navigate without the back buttons/ lack of breadcrumbs/ etc, it’s self made purely to have as little text as possible and large images making it easier to purchase the things you need, so instead of reading a lot it’s just a bunch of clicking which is kind of counterintuitive but it seems to be working in terms of sales and conversion rates.

  • Hey Sid, your disclaimer mentioned that the images for Shittament are fake and you've tried your best with the HEX code. Is there somewhere we can access the HEX code for specific filaments? Understand that it may be unreasonable for clearance stock. TIA.

    • +2

Never mind - the HEX codes are in the item description itself!

      • hahah yeah, so the clearance guys use pantone, im colour blind as heck so take each colour with a tablespoon of salt. also I havent even seen the rolls and colours im going based on the last clearance colours and the finishes those materials had.

youll find the normal rolls on the site have colour codes, hex values, and real images as well as rendered images to help you find the colour better and more accurately, crazy enough sometimes the photos from the factory vs it being in my hands is completely diffrent shades, its all about the exposure of the camera and the way the rolls are lit.

hence the fake photos look more colour rich because thats actually what the filament looks like in person vs through a camera sensor. BLENDER FTW!
