Got a price drop alert from Camelx3, this is the lowest it's been from Amazon.

Combine with Canon's $150 cashback to bring it down to $2999 which is ATL (I think).

I paid with discounted gift cards from Bupa which brought my total down to $2905.50. And then that should stack with whatever cashback I get from Shopback.

$3188 if you don't want to bother with the cashback at digidirect

    • Why wouldn’t the cash back apply? Isn’t it a canon cash back?

    • Who wouldn't bother a $150 cashback? It does apply if you buy from digidirect too.

So pay more, to get it from a worse store?

My bad, I read it as $3149 after the cashback!

  • Fantastic price!

  • Thanks OP, great price for the Mark II

  • Great price and great camera

  • Amazing deal, fighting to resist purchasing something I know I don't need right now!
Out of interest, are many people using the RF lenses or are most using EF with adaptors? I'm wondering if you'd need to switch to RF to get the most out of the camera.
    Apologies, I'm pretty new.

I have a mix of both
Some of the cheaper RF lenses are very good
High end and recent EF lenses work very well

EF lens adapter works well, you can get by until you can afford RF lenses.

I use a mix of both.
      I use:
      RF 11-20mm, 15-35mm, 28-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8, 85mm f1.2 DS and the 100-500mm. All solid performers and super quick to focus.
      EF 14mm f/2.8, 17mm TS-E, 50mm TS-E, 90mm TS-E, 135mm TS-E, 100mm macro, 400mm f/2.8 IS II - more specialty lenses that I use for specific shoots.

If you get the adapter, go for the one with the control ring as then you can still use it's functionality on the EF lenses just like the RF lenses.

If you have questions about specific lenses, happy to go into detail.

I have most of the EF lenses available but the ones above are the only ones I use with my mirrorless bodies.
I've done a lot of testing between the EF and RF lenses, and as an example the RF 70-200mm RF is definitely sharper and quicker to focus but I tested the RF 400mm f2.8 against my EF 400mm f/2.8 IS USM II and they were near identical.

      • Just confirming that I will need the EF/RF adapter to be able to mount the EF lens on the R6?

legend - thanks for the summary!

  • OOS?

    • Yup

    • It has been coming in and out of stock recently - maybe people returning previous orders?
I picked one up at 3099 but now OOS again
