Logitech MX Mechanical Keyboard Mini (Tactile Quiet) $99 + Delivery ($0 VIC, WA C&C) @ PLE

380

I'm surprised no-one had noticed this amongst the PLE deals… Usually $299, now $99, if anyone is looking for a mechanical wireless TKL keyboard. I have the full sized version and it's great and can use it for both gaming and working from home!

    • A great point, but unfortunately most of the price beat options are currently closed being Xmas and this will likely sell out before tomorrow :(

You still have the Officeworks call centre right?

        • From their contact us page:

          Monday - Friday: 8am to 6pm AEDT

          • @bozzonac: Too late, got ozbargained so quickly, all gone so can't PB anymore

  • Is Logitech mx keys or mechanical keyboard better than mechanical keyboard? I have two mechanical keyboards. Not sure if I need to try mx keys.

YMMV but I personally find mine great for multi-device switching and connectivity out of the box, as the work computers block any driver installs or BT connections (I purchased another Bolt receiver and set it up on my personal device with the Logi software and it stored/saved the settings for use on the work PC). The mechanical switch side of it is pretty on par with other wired mechanical keyboards I've had in the past.

MX Keys is a good keyboard. It has more of a laptop style feel if you prefer quiet typing.

      • Had a key cap's connector break on me. They're held on quite flimsily.

They're absolutely not better than typical mechanical keyboards. I would rate MX Keys as much better than your tpical $15 cheap membrane keyboards, but for the high price they sell for, you'd hope so. A good quality mechanical keyboard will always feel better to type on than an MX Keys series keyboard (even the MX Mechanical series), but you do tend to get what you pay for.

So no, I don't think you need to try MX Keys. You're not missing anything special.

  • I already daily drive a K3…I guess this is not really worth the side-grade?

    • +2

Obviously the K3 is more customisable if you want to swap your switches/keycaps so probably not

Thanks for confirming. I was recommended K3. Good to know it's comparable.

So I was in Kmart the other day and they had a cool looking Gaming Mini Mechanical Keyboard.

It obviously isn’t in the league of this one, and isn’t wireless in any way (I assume USB but the box didn’t make it clear).

And it’s even more mini than this because they rely on a Fn key setup for things like the arrow cluster, but at <$40 it might be of interest to some. I didn’t impulse buy (I was there for the mic boom).

    • 60% layouts are quite common, search for a mechanical keyboard on Amazon or AliExpress and most top results will be GK/RK61 variants

Ah man, snooze I lose… Out of stock already. Should've grabbed one when I opened this link almost two hours ago.

Totally not recommending this keyboard, bought 1 (luckily) from OW, when you type a lot, the keyboard gets lost with some keys, in my case both m and n keys are randomly not registering, quite a nightmare to live with when the most basic function of a keyboard doesn’t work. Contacted Logitech support, not a lot of help, but with the support case, OW offered me full refund. Never looked back. I never thought I would say this for a $200+ keyboard, but good luck.

    • I might've dodged a bullet missing out on getting one then. Does it not have anti-ghosting or something?!
