Apple Watch Boxing Day Sales?

Hey guys does anyone know if there are any Boxing Day deals for an Apple watch?

I've been watching JB for an Apple watch 7 stainless steel to go on sale for Boxing Day, but they don't seem to carry the Apple watch 7 in SS anymore, and the 8's aren't on sale.

  • I think once they've cleared out stock of previous generations (and typically these deals are posted on OzB too), they don't tend to come back…

Any particular reason why you're focused on series 7 rather than 9?

    • the 9 doesn't look like it has many significant ugprades to the 7 so am looking to save a few bucks. i'm also open to buying the 8 too for similar specs

      • I guess that's why they discontinue previous generations when new ones come out… otherwise too many of us will think this way!

        • yeah for sure! do you think it would be worth 450 for an apple watch series 8 aluminium 45mm on market place? the seller has receipts and everything but seems quite high for a second hand watch.

          • +1

@User489075: Given a brand new sport 45mm wifi only is about $650 brand new for series 9 on OzBargain, and you're probably going to want to buy a new band for it which if it were genuine Apple, would probably be $60-$100, it means you're saving maybe $100-$150? Depends how much you value that (and also notwithstanding there may be even better deals on series 9 if you used discounted gift cards, etc)… I probably wouldn't for such a small saving on something which someone else has worn very close to their skin.

(also keep in mind if Apple retail is $700 for the 45mm series 9, with discounted gift cards you're looking at low $6's so again, relative to about $500 for the used one with a new band, I don't know if it's worth it)

EDIT: For comparison to your Marketplace deal, series 8 refurb from Apple is $529 which will feel as good as new: https://www.apple.com/au/shop/refurbished/watch/apple-watch-…

            • @jace88: yeah that's a fair point thank you! which is why i offered 300 and seemed reasonable for the points above for a new one. if seller agrees to 300 would you think it's worth it? apparently offers were received for 450 but that doesn't make sense to me when u can pay slightly more for a reburb one from apple..

do you know where I could get 15% apple gift cards to use for the refurbished one? i might settle for one of those.

would you buy something like this? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/195431759622?hash=item2d80a3ff06…

  • Haha, it's Apple, the best you will ever do is 15% on gift cards :/

These are refurbished but they might be your best bet.

    • thanks! surprised they are still quite expensive for refurbished

  • I'd hunt eBay too. If you look long enough you can find a SS series 6/7 quite cheap in great condition. Prices usually are pretty high but every now and then a good BIN offer buy a legit seller goes up. The owner of the one I got must have had the 80% charging thing on because battery health was 100%.

    • i'm a bit hesistant to purchase from ebay - i feel like with marketplace at least you can meet up to check condition and link to phone first to make sure its not locked before paying

      • Well I'm sure you'll find a good deal on marketplace too eventually. People always need cash and will sell valuables to get it.

        • yeah i've found a couple sellers but still quite nervous as they are asking for a fairly high price for a second hand watch and also starting to notice a pattern with some patterns. i think its the same person on different accounts giving the exact same replies lol. would you care for a receipt/box if buying a second hand apple watch?

          • @User489075: The one i got from ebay gave me the receipt. If tge watch was less than a year old you’d want it for warranty or less than two years old or whatever then for consumer law warranty. Apple knows when they were all sold, i’ve never been asked for a receipt when warranying an Apple product.

            • @AustriaBargain: did you buy it from someone or a store on ebay? was the watch mailed to you?

              • @User489075: It was sold by an individual, just some guy. He mailed it to me. One of the photos on the listing was of it in the setup stage, showing that he had unlocked it from his account.

              • @User489075: @dauoz , if you are in Sydney, I have a black (graphite) series 7 SS 45MM LTE that is in excellent condition with all accessories and boxes. PM me if interested. I have some bands also that i could throw in that have barely touched my skin as others have said.

                • @Stuj: hey i'm interested - could you PM me how much you are looking for? I can't seem to start a conversation with you. what is LTE?
