Probably these are more tech-illiterate friendly. I've used it and Phone app is dead easy. Also this takes up less space than the Router.
You cant use multiple routers to create a mesh network with Onemesh. Onemesh is a router + tp-links own mesh extender nodes like this one. You can do what you're saying with Easymesh, but that hasn't been rolled out yet.
Convenience. I need a smaller footprint also. The idea of a spare router is not so bad, but how often do you need that?
For me, smaller footprint. I have 2, 1 upsatirs and 1 in the garage. Just plug into a powerpoint, no cables or table required.
So is this used with a tp link deco x55 double set perhaps? Is it better to use these or a 3 set x55?

Why would you buy this instead of a 2nd router like the AX55 for $30 more? It can be configured to do the same thing via one/easy/mesh, but also can do so much more and act as a spare router if your main one goes down.
