Looking to get a tailor made suit made here in Australia- what's a good price for a 100% wool, 2 button suit, nothing too extreme material wise as its just for work. I know the prices will vary with a range of factors but some indicative pricing would be great.

Sorry to ask a different qns but on a similar note has anyone got any tips for a good place to get measured up in Australia (Melb) for SHIRTS - manufactured overseas no problem? Would there be any noticeable difference between true tailored and bespoke - which as far as I understand is the closest manufactured match? I can not find any pre manufactured shirt that fits me well.
I think you mean "made to measure" vs "bespoke". With bespoke, they measure you up and create a pattern from your measurements, whereas with made-to-measure, they choose a pattern that fits best and alter it to fit better. Bespoke tends to offer you more choices, e.g. pockets, button stance, fabric, etc. I would consider both to be "tailored", in comparison to ready-to-wear, off-the-rack shirts.

Thanks for the responses, anyone got a suit from an online store where you supply your measurements? What are your thoughts? I'm guessing they're a made in Asia. Is it just me or if you are going to spend the $ you are better getting the measurements right and buying it in oz?

there is an ebay store - bespokeway . feedback shows quite reasonable quality/ customer satisfaction.
suit prics range from about $120 (shipped) to $175 (shipped) depending on the suit options your choose
Last time I checked for a bespoke suit from one of the tailors on Oxford Street in Sydney cost around $1k. This was 3 years ago. (Two button lounge suit, super 120s or was it 140s can't remember)
