        Very strange to see someone giving Tmart praise for the wrong they did to many people!!!

        It was not an obvious stuff up - they used deception to offload their rubbish.
        Tmart's site also calls this an MP3 player & has a tab on how to select an MP3 player on this deal's linked page. A mistake on 1 site may be a stuff up, but not on 2.
        Thats why I reported this deal!

        That seems why OzBargain banned Tmart from listing. A simple mistake would not lead to a ban.
        You would not be getting an easy refund from Tmart otherwise. It would be bad for Tmart's business if they did not refund - as that would probably mean no future sales on this site.

        May be time to rethink your praise of Tmart!
        Praise should rather go to the Mods for negotiating a speedy resolution!!

          only for the after stuff up service… it was more to let people know how quickly they could expect their refund after emailing and mentioning ozbargain like their rep commented..

          so to even it out for you

        • It took 7 days before Tmart finally refunded my payment through the PayPal dispute process. Finally received email from Tmart that they had refunded my money to PayPal last night. That was 1 week after they said they had refunded. And that took many emails to get the refund.

          As I said - refund would probably not be so easy or quick without complaint my myself and possibly others to Mods via REPORT, and Mods assistance in negotiating the refunds for all. Thats a lot of work by many to get you a 'quick' refund. But some posters earlier seemed to find the whole business amusing!

          Thats why I suggested directing praise to those who got you the refund (the Mods & OzBargain system), not Tmart - it was a commercial decision for them to give quick refunds, made after losing their ability to list their products on OzBargain (banned).

          There are over 2500 clicks generated by this deal to Tmarts deceptively described product - potenially a lot of money that would not have been generated for Tmart if the deal had been correctly described - not as a MP3 Player & not compatable with anything but Symbian systems.
          How many would have bought it then?

          Tmart has had to modify its own site because of misleading information - which stated this device was a MP3 player, but still contains inaccurate information ("Separated earphone jack and power jack" - which does not exist). The details tab used to list this headset in a range of MP3 players - but now links to nothing.
          And the bottom of their page now states "Extra Info Note:
          Only support Symbian system does not support the Android system and Apple's iso system."

          Thats a lot of "obvious stuff up" to fix on their own site, let alone the misrepresentation of the deal on OzBargain! An Australian business could end up with a fine or be forced to compensate or refund consumers for such misrepresentation of their product!

          Strange OzBargainers are negging a comment that OzBargain & Mods should be the ones to receive praise for help in getting your quick & easy refunds. Rather neggers are supporting Tmart which took your money for a product that was never provided as described, harvested valuable personal details like email addresses, and was banned because of their misrepresentation of this deal!

          I thought the Mods & the OzBargain system did a great job. 10 out of 10 from me!

      • Another case of Consumer Stockholm Syndrome on OzBargain -
        "A disorder in which consumers irrationally deny product flaws and/or ardently defend product purveyors in order to quiesce any internal discontent arising from the purchase of expensive products deemed imperfect or unworthy of the sums expended."
        (OK this was not an expensive product. Have posted about this problem elsewhere.)

        Or in this case, the relief experienced when a refund or compensation is granted by the purveyor, as the purchaser had felt captive after being sold a product that was wrongly promoted by the seller. The result is a positive feeling towards the seller, even though the seller caused the problem in the first place! It takes a lot for many people to resist this irrational belief, despite being presented with the clear facts.

        Some laugh the problem off or convince themselves the product they bought isn't that bad, rather than take action against the seller. This is done to avoid the thought (protecting their concept of themselves) that they made a bad decision or had fallen for misleading advertising.

        Don't worry - intelligent people are possibly more likely to experience this 'syndrome'.
        Stockholm Syndrome is an interesting but purplexing issue in Psychology.
        (I am not imune - have a few online purchases that arrived faulty or not as described - which I have told myself I may fix & weren't worth the effort of complaining, or…)

        [Sellers try to manage the buyer's positive perception, so they can sell more. With 2 other purchases last week, the sellers have tried to receive a glowing report, & have a negative report removed - in return for my tiny refund (under $6). Even Tmart asked me to close my PayPal dispute to get my refund they promised on this deal. All these sellers had sent a faulty, misleadingly described, or wrong product. One was a 'Top-rated Seller' on ebay with 99.9% positive - but tried to stop me reporting the deceptive description of their totally useless product. No wonder they have such a good rating!! By not reporting your true experience (+/-), you are not assisting other buyers make an informed decision.]

        Many who bought this deal will not claim a refund, and may not even know a refund is available.
        Tmart may still make money out of this.

        I hope Tmart agreed to contact all buyers of this deal rather than just post here in case someone stumbles across it. (Out of 2500+ clicks on Tmart's link, many may not have bought, but few who bought have posted after buying! Most would not look at a deal again after buying.) And it was not just OBers who were deceived by their inaccurate listing of their product on their site.

  • Tmart earlier agreed to refund my purchase when I raised a dispute with PayPal, so that dispute was closed by PayPal. email from PayPal: This email confirms that your dispute with Tmart.com is now closed. Disputes are automatically closed if you receive a refund But have received no refund!

    Received an email today telling me I won't receive a refund unless I close the (closed) PayPal dispute!

      • Tmart's refund was only sent yesterday, according to the email sent by Tmart & PayPal.
        Only received refund after raising another complaint with Paypal.
        Refunded straight away by PayPal.

  • Same with everyone else, couldn't get music to play through the headset (I was hoping it will work for me though). I emailed customer care and received reply after an hour saying they will refund soon and I don't need to ship the item back. Not sure what use I will have for it though, it doesn't have a mic, so it's useless as a headset. Rep, please make check out your product yourself and make sure that it works next time you post it as a promotion. You managed to sign up many new customers through your post (including me). Unfortunately, it turned out to be a PR disaster. I appreciate your effort in fixing the problem and willing to give Tmart another try.

  • Just got mine today (Melbourne). Same with everyone else, it doesn't play mp3s like the original webpage said it does!!

    It's just a headset for calls/talking.

    It was packed very well though, a lot better than other items from HK that i get.

          All was solved. The above quote was out of context and from a different person, not associated with Tmart's customer service.

          Full refund and 5% store voucher was given within a day of first contact. Brilliant customer service.

    • Did Tmart contact the buyers to tell them a refund is available, as few have posted since a refund was offered. It seems rare to find posts after a deal, so i wonder if buyers read this & are aware they must request a refund.

        Easy enough - but I think I should not have had to ask really. You are very aware of those that likely order here and should have contacted them directly.

        • That is what should have been done - not leave it up to us to stumble across these details about the refund, then request it. It was Tmart's error. Tmart should have contacted all OB purchasers.
          It was not just a mistake on OB, but also on Tmart's site misrepresnting this as a MP3 player.

    I received this product that was squashed. I got only $3 refund for this as i complained it was not in giftable condition, or i could have got a full refund if i had returned it it hong kong - which would have costed me more to ship the item.

    After reading this tread i realise that Tmart advertised this incorrectly! I'm so angry!!!!! it's a piece of shit.. doesn't work.. and such poor condition!

    i want the rest of my refund back!

      • Why doesn't Tmart contact OzBargain buyers by email to inform them that they can claim a refund? Few would have bought this product if correctly described on OB and on Tmart's site. A reputable business would do that after they made the error.
