It's been quite a while since I've shared a low price SSD enclosure from AliExpress and here's one perfect for all of those Lexar and other cheap M.2 NVMe SSDs posted this year. A good option for use as a portable SSD or cloning.

This one is compatible with M Key, B&M key NVMe SSDs in the sizes 2230mm, 2242mm, 2260mm and 2280mm. It has fast read/write speeds due to being USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps) via USB-C and the aluminium case paired with the heatsink and thermal pad help with heat dissipation. The enclosure has a silicone case to provide further protection against falls.

The SSD enclosure is available with just a USB-C to USB-C cable or with an additional USB-A to USB-C cable.

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate and GST inclusive.

seems to be back in stock

  • Got this enclosure via this deal and it arrived on Tuesday 2nd Jan. However it only worked for a day. My PC doesn't detect the NVME drive in this enclosure. Back to the unionshine one for now.

I had mine with a NM790 connected to my server running 24x7 as a backup drive. However the drive is only accessed hardly an 1 hour a day while running an overnight backup.

Have to apply for a refund via aliexpress now. I hope I don't have to return it as i am not sure of the return postage cost.

    • How did you find the thermal management on the lexar? Did it run hot with your nvme?

      • This enclosure didnt report drive smart data in my proxmox server to which it was connected. So couldn't check.

The unionshine enclosure reports smart data correctly.

        • Are you able to see what chipset this enclosure is using?

          • @Clear: Is there a way to check without taking it apart?
I will take it apart if I don't have to return it.

          • @Clear: I'm collecting mine from post office next week so can check then if you can wait

            • @bdl: Sure. I'd be curious if it's one with known issues

              • @Clear: OK! Will report back. I reckon it will be a JMicron one but hoping it's a Realtek :)

@bdl: Grab the flash id tools from the link below and it should help identify them when an SSD is connected.

                  • @Clear: Thankyou - was intending on just cracking the enclosure open and determining the controller by sight but that'll also help!

  • any chance of similar ones being back in stock around similar price??
