What Gift-Able Experiences Do You Recommend? $25-100

Hi all

I would like to move toward buying Christmas gifts that are experiences, or most technically just anything that isn't a physical object which takes up space.

Do you have any that you recommend or are go-tos? Some ideas that come to mind are massage vouchers and dining vouchers.

I've never been particularly creative, so I'm keen to hear what you may have thought of or think are obvious good ones.

Cheers

Theatre - is there a great show coming during the year? Get the tickets now and it gives them something to look forward to. My sister got us tickets to 'Come From Away' one Christmas and it was fantastic.

I take my daughter each year to a Shakespeare play.

Lots of musicals are on each year.

This year, my sister got us a river cruise in Mooloolaba, followed by a seafood dinner. Valid for a year, so we can plan around it and maybe make a weekend of it.

In Brisbane, Riverlife Adventure Centre do kayaking tours on the Brisbane River, abseiling and rock climbing tours at Kangaroo Point cliffs. (https://riverlife.com.au/) - probably something similar in each town/city.

Another tour we took our father on once was free, through the Brisbane Greeters (again, similar in each city - usually organised through city council) of the bridge at Indooroopilly that the toll collector and family used to live on - absolutely amazing. Even if it is free, you can take the recipient there and for lunch before or after.

    Anticipation is key.

Last year for my sister and her husband I bought tickets to Twin Towns to see a musician from our youth - cheated and bought a ticket for myself too so I could travel with them. The previous year I bought them tickets to Australian Outback Spectacular which came with a meal included. If your relatives are anywhere near the Gold Coast, or planning a holiday around that way, I can totally recommend the Outback Spectacular. Weekend prices are a bit higher than your budget but not by too much. Weekdays are cheaper.

  • All excellent ideas. Thanks everyone!
