amaysim: $7.00 Cashback on $20 Prepaid Mobile Starter Pack (Was $40) @ Cashrewards

440

Posting this because it can be activated on the 365 Day "Pay As You Go" Plan & will give you $40 credit. For clarification this is the $40 80GB starter pack which is on sale for $20 with 100GB if you activate on the 28 day plan, but when you order it's best to say you're porting even if you aren't. This avoids the sim coming already activated on that plan, then when it arrives you can activate on the PAYG plan online.
Equates to $13.00 after cashback.

The PAYG plan is handy if you want to park your number or need a phone for mainly receiving calls with data turned off.
Also Amaysim works overseas for receiving SMS (please comment on your experience with this).

Pay As You Go Plan Features

  • Credit lasts for 365 days
  • 12c / min standard calls to mobile & landlines
  • 12c / standard SMS
  • 5c / MB data (no data included, it's a PAYG plan)
  • 29c/min calls to 13 numbers, free calls to 18 numbers in Australia
  • 12c/min voicemail retrieval
  • Optus 4G Network with VoLTE
  • No lock-in contract
  • Bring your number or pick a new one

Cheer WN, i appreciate the deals you post đź‘Ť

How does it work then? You say you're porting

And then you change your mind later and do a manual activation?

    • Sorry, a noob here. So how do I activate this on PAYG option?

  • What's the process to switch to esim? Do I have to do it after activation?

  • +1

In this case. Use Amaysim 365 Days and activate boost every months for data.

I switched from Felix unlimited which only had 4g to Amaysim 5G 100mbs plan for faster speeds and Amaysim was so much slower, easily slowest provider I've been with and never had close to full bars or advertised speed anywhere with them. Comparable to dial up speeds I wish I was joking. I've moved to Boost now easily 100x faster.

    • Best not to go on the PAYG plan if you need data, it will chew through your credit pretty fast.

Also Optus is better than Telstra where I live so I guess it depends on your location.

Nowhere does he say that he went on the PAYG plan though

        • -1

No but this post is all about that plan. Read the description.

          • @WatchNerd: I know that, but am I correct to say that this $40 option is not ONLY for the PAYG option? You are just promoting that as the best use of the options available as part of this product?

It sounds like just a general complaint about speeds on Amaysim regardless of the chosen plan.

    • Same experience re:data speed. I had the bonus data from the outage, was going to finish then port out. Couldn’t put up with the switching between 3G and 4G circus, ported back to good old boost.

So $13 for what i paid $5 for not long ago

Sim must be activated within 20 days to receive CB

  • Can you have "As You Go" (365 day expiry) and 10GB data plan (28 days) at the same time on a single sim?
On https://www.amaysim.com.au/sim-plans/28-day-sim-plans/as-you… there is a link to https://www.amaysim.com.au/sim-plans/28-day-sim-plans/unlimi… under data section that implies this is possible.

    • OP wants you to think that this can only be used as a PAYG SIM LOL

As far as I am aware, this is the $40 SIM so it'll end up getting activated on the 80GB plan which is currently giving 100GB

  • Can i order this as an esim today, port my number, and still payg, not activate on the 28 day plan?

Also, can same thing be done on the $30 (which is $15 plus $5.60 cashback)?

    • Can i order this as an esim today, port my number, and still payg, not activate on the 28 day plan?

I think that is exactly what OP is trying to promote here. He's not even talking about the 28-day plan at all

Dunno the answer to your second question

  • i ordered one on on esim today and ported a number. there was no option to select payg plan and as soon as the port was done it activated on the 28 day plan
contacted amaysim on chat and they changed my plan to the pay as you go plan, so still worked in the end!

not sure if its different with physical sim

  • There doesn’t seem to be an expiry date. Are these CR rates available indefinitely? Unless it’s the same date (10 Jan) as the Amaysim offers?
