Most of the Tapo range is on sale on Amazon now.

Historical low according to 3C and cheaper than anywhere else I could find.

Recently installed C320WS connected to Synology Surveillance Station and pretty happy with it. (Currently $96 on Amazon AU)

The listed C325WB is the higher end version which has a larger sensor, should perform much better in low light environment.
Also higher FPS 20 vs. 15.

Installation is quite easy, the power cable is 3m, I installed mine on the eave sheet facing front yard.

  • Might not be related but just note these are 2.4ghz. I have a mesh that runs both 2.4 and 5ghz on the same SSID and my Reolinks takes longer to load as to when i had a seperate 2.4ghz SSID. My 1 5ghz camera is fine.

    • I've had the reverse exp with my ring doorbell 4. I just switched my mesh from TP Link deco x50 to Asus XT8, the ring doorbell can now connect to 5ghz band (tp link 5ghz wasn't compatible), but it's worse performing than the 2.4ghz.

I got the C320WS for $99 delivered - my parents wanted one out the front of their house to cover their driveway. They have a new Fritzbox router in the middle of their house. Unfortunately the wireless signal isn't good enough (probably the roller door, brick walls in the garage etc are really hurting the signal) so the video constantly pauses.

I've just ordered a cheap wifi extender to see if that helps

I’d suggest to buy a mesh set instead.
If they are not heavy users a basic model should do, such as Deco M4, or Tenda Nova.
Wi-Fi extenders don’t work that well.

      • Unfortunately my dad only recently bought a Fritzbox 7590 AX so he won't change - but for $30 I'm willing to try the extender. It also can work in AP mode so I'm also going to try a 15m cat cable in the garage to connect the Tapo camera directly to the extender, which should bypass the metal garage door and the brickwork - HOPEFULLY that'll give me a much better connection to the router.

        • Should be working. Extenders are known to have lags but should be okay for this purpose.

@mrgeckoz: I didn't even bother with the Cat5e cable - just adding an extender to the back (internal facing) wall of the garage improved the Tapo's signal strength from 2 bars (-71 to -74 RSSI) to 3 bars (-49 to -51 RSSI) and the video is streaming perfectly now… Job done!

  • Watched a youtube review on this a few months ago and it looked really decent. If I didn't already have wired CCTV and Ring cameras around the house, I'd grab a few of these.

i saw this video and decided to pull the trigger.

Got mine this morning and installed, replaced C320WS, much better image quality and colour.
Obviously the C325WB doesnt have IR, cant wait to see when its dark.
