Hi, I am traveling to Sydney for the new years. I am planning to book a car from Turo for a day. Please share your previous experiences from Turo and also any tips to keep the costs to minimum. I plan to use the car to drive to the blue mountains in Katoomba. Thanks.

 - There are a lot of things up here that it is much easier to see if you have a car. The train only runs hourly, so can be a hassle to go between towns if you aren’t punctual, and a lot of the lookouts and attractive bush walks are a fair hike from the train station. - Sorry, don’t know anything about Turo, tho.

 - Using a car rented from an actual car rental company with applicable excess waivers would keep your costs and headaches to a minimum should you get into any trouble.
 - any tips to keep the costs to minimum - pay extra for the excess discount / waiver

Just use public transport. It’s 30mins longer versus the car but is far cheaper and saves you the worry of potentially damaging the car and having to pay a big excess. Not to mention the countless toll roads around Sydney.
Use the time on the train to research more attractions or have a nap.
