Bosch green PBS75A belt sander.
3 camels says it's the best price like for eva! snaps fingers.

Was about a hundy a while back.

Apparently it's not the pbs75aE which the description in the add infers (so it doesn't come with speed adjustment, nor a mounting block to make it a bench sander). But a UK DIY forum says it has top mounted M4 threads. So with it's flat top and some M4 bolts mounted in ply, you make your own mounting and diy bench sander.

Some YouTube's and reviews seem to say it eats belts. But others seem to love it. Been around as a model in Europe for a long long time. But what sold me is that common failure parts like drive belts, face plates and engine carbon brushes are all available as aftermarket parts for DIY servicing. I like that about Bosch.

But yes, it's green, it's not blue, and it's not a Makita, so it's not going to be the world's greatest sander. But it is cheap.

Oh, and it should arrive before Xmas.
So a good stocking stuffer for the fam!

    • Edit: mine arrived, but doesn't appear to have any M4 threaded attachment points on the top. So the UK forum I was referring to may have been referring to the 75AE model … There frequently seems to be some confusion between the two, even the Amazon ad mixes them up. But my bad. No easy bench sander.

Wonder if Amazon will give a rebate because of that.

    Insane price!

Good deal, but I think you definitely need speed adjustment on something like this.

    +1 for the write up

  • Sold out. Had it in my cart, tossing over whether or not I actually need and whether I should become a DIY "handy man", or at least pretend to be one.
    Nekminit… unavailable at that price.

Oof, you guys are savage. It was only 20% sold when I posted.

      • Thanks for the post, I'm actually surprised it last as long as it did.

I got this for $100 in the last deal and have been flogging it. No dramas and it's been running well.
Used it to plane a slab and sharpen mower blades.

Haven't used the filter, just stood on my front lawn with the breeze blowing the dust to the road.

    • Good to know.
Mower blades is not something I'd have considered.

And your dusty neighbours must looooove you :)

      • The grit for the mower blade changes depending on how blunt it is. Usually 240 is fine.

The dust was def settling on the road but could have reached him on a big gust!

        • Where does one find 240 grit sandpaper belts for a belt sander?
I couldn't find finer than 100grit when I last looked, and want something finer for finishing a deck.

I have found that my $50 ozito shop vac does an excellent job when attached to dusty power tools.

Prevents my detail sander from clogging up every 5 minutes, and as a result I get a lot more use out of each sandpaper pad.

@WSDtightwad: Just went down to the garage and it's 120 I was using, bad memory! Got a bunch of the flexifit brand when they were recently on clearance from Bunnings.
I would normally use the wet dry vac but the wind was favorable and setting the dust free was much quieter!

    710 Volts, Gee…

  • The dust/exhaust outlet on this is a slightly different size than my old belt sander.
It's tapered and about 28-29 mm outside diameter.

Haven't yet found anything to connect it to my shop vac for dust extraction. If anyone has, please let me know.

FYI for any future readers…. 2 or 3 layers of cloth tape around the outlet port seems to fit the aluminium adaptor that comes with the 12L Ozito shopvac quite nicely.
