If I purchase some items at Coles via Uber Eats and the actual price is less than the list price on Uber do I get the difference refunded? Specifically these are fixed price items e.g. a bottle of milk, not per-weight items e.g. loose fruit.
TIA

I thought Cole's big deal was that Uber Eats/Door Dash have the same prices as in store? Maybe not stated as a guarantee, but it's what they do.
I thought Cole's big deal
They used to be the same. Was great getting stuff for store price and free delivery (dash pass).
Just recently, I noticed they whacked the price up 10%
Damn, so it's 10% surcharge plus 10% price increase, plus Dashpass subscription.
@AustriaBargain: Pretty much …
DashPass is well worth it for us, as we use them a couple of times a week.
Aw man :( The difference was 50% - though thankfully I had a Uber offer to minimise the price I actually paid
and the actual price is less than the list price on Uber
The actual price is whatever you paid on Uber.
No. A few weeks ago, they stopped matching specials and have also marked up all items above what the in-store price is.
Watch out for the Uber surge pricing too, when particular items are high in demand !!!
Just like the food prices from restaurants on ubereats, i expect that prices for other items will also be jacked up by quite a bit. Someone's got to pay for that 30% (or whatever it is) cut that uber takes!
do I get the difference refunded?
LOL Nope, it is the price you pay for someone else to do your shopping for you.
I’m genuinely curious where OP got that idea from. It’s not a thing on any shopping/delivery platform.
From another recent post about the same topic, it seemed to be an intro promo that Coles did, where they matched the store prices and did delivery for a small fee.
Now that promo is gone and the true 'uber' model is exposed, people seem to be upset that they can't get the same instore specials or pricing via the app all while someone collects their groceries and deliver them to their door for a few dollar delivery fee.
I was speaking to the guy at Liquorland about a similar thing (its DoorDash) and he said the markup is insane. Bottles of wine sold for $15 instore are $34 via DoorDash.
Its the same with Restaurants, Maccas, all the delivery apps have markup vs going directly.
What do you expect? Do you think restaurants and other business should just wear the losses of utilising a delivery service that takes a huge cut of every order? It's the price of convenience and/or laziness.
No, that's how they make their money? Of course you're going to pay more for a delivery service.
