Overly sensitive souls on here, what do you expect. You did not even say anything unreasonable.
I would argue that comparing a sale price to RRP is pretty unreasonable.
@Hiphopopotamus: Except Sony has never come close to this price yet, which was the point of my post. But I guess that’s difficult to understand, as the negs suggested.
@Maths Debater: I see, I'm not in the market for a TV so don't really follow the prices.
My understanding though is that LG is the best so having a higher RRP makes sense.
@Hiphopopotamus: It's on Sony that their price is higher than LG. Regardless, we pay with our hard earned dollars. If Ps5 was on sale for $650 but series X still had a price of $799 (RRP), you'll see the exact same type of comments. It's a valid comparison in my eyes.
@adam7070: I can see that. From my point of view though I wouldn't have even bothered making that comparison in the first place, something not on sale wouldn't have even been considered if that makes sense.
Imagine having this weird brand war mentality ..sad
Now here’s the plot twist, I own a A80J. People assume I’m trying to start a brand war when that was not the intention of my post. I was merely indicating how Sony have positioned themselves as a premium brand for no justifiable reason when LG have the same, if not better TV for much less. I can look for a Kleenex deal if any of you fanboys want?
@Maths Debater: Maybe say that….
@Maths Debater: The LG is nowhere near as good. That's why there's a $2k price difference. Simples.
@tp0: Thanks, but I’ll rely on a credible source.
@tp0: Those who did not experience 80 or 90 series OLED in a living room will never understand how different the Bravia experience is. I don’t blame them.
@tp0: It’s all relative , I’ve always had Sony tvs and many more of their products but much is no longer built in Japan , value can be found elsewhere also , C2 is an awesome tv so far and if you can wait and find a 77” G/C3 for close to this price March April when they do the runouts , I think it’s worth waiting and watching .
@Maths Debater: Go outside
@Maths Debater: You own an A80J and still think Sony is not justifiable as a premium brand. I sound of A80J is more than amazing considering that no extra hardware is attached. The picture and sound from that unit is simply amazing. And the upscaling is beyond words.
@io: Meh, Sony is now overpriced dinosaur, they haven't gone the way of Toshiba yet just because Ps5 and some cameras are holding them off the cliff. The rest of their products are now not worth the price premium they think they're worth.
@lgacb08: You forgot to mention headphones which are an OzB favourite.
@io: Ignore this guy Just typical keyboard warriors who own some run of the mill mid range product and they know everything.
It's like the Tesla gang, they upgrade from some Camry to a car that that does 100 in 4s and suddenly they think it's better than a Porsche. And they need to tell you everytime.
@plmko: Yeah, I would be pretty embarrassed too if I got smoked by a car that cost half as much lol. No one cares about the fit and finish of overpriced German rubbish. They’re plagued with problems and perfect for simps who love to show off their wealth.
@Maths Debater: Yeah I bet your loving the $10K on FSD which will never work the 1M robo taxis which was a lie, the coast to coast which the video was faked. lol Elmo lovers are a weird bunch
@lgacb08: The A95L was voted best Oled
Sony have had the best top tier Oled for the last few years in a row
Vincent from HDTV does amazing reviews and always is unbiased and fair
So if he rates them as the best you’ve got a good best they are
@ledzep: Yeah, he probably gets paid by Sony to say that. The G3 and S95C are also top tier TV’s. The A95L is considered only marginally better.
@Maths Debater: It was a blind test mate
Was on his YouTube but I’m sure they paid the other guys too
@ledzep: I’m not talking about the A95L, I’m referring to Sony that he seems to praise in general.
@Maths Debater: I mean they make the reference OLED monitor that’s used for colour grading Hollywood movies so they kinda know a thing or two
Pretty much every serious reviewer has them right at the top as #1 sometimes #2
The A95L, A95K, A95J was the top reviewers panels for the last 3 years. Unless you an LG fanboy Sony does it better
@ledzep: LG OLED’s are also bought by the Hollywood Studio's as reference monitors , so that’s no exclusive thing .
I’m sure it’s all just a Hollywood tax dodge buying in bulk ever year that that tv manufacturers are happy to use in their marketing spiel .
@beach bum: The Sony reference monitor is not a consumer product. What I am saying is for over a decade Sony has the gold standard colour grading reference product for studios, that kind of tells you where they are in the industry and why they are seen as the best
@ledzep: No doubt the best stuff coming out from all the top three manufactures is great . How many hdmi 2.1 ports the lg has , then for me the stand style and the weight of the C2 made it possible to setup by myself .
If I had of changed my tv cabinet to fit the wide feet style of the Sony and managed with only two 2.1 ports and bought a soundbar because all Sony tv speakers suck . Then yes maybe the Sony has a little better picture .
Horses for coarses .
Clearly the better TV. Shouldn’t you be comparing the Sony to the C3?
Checks price
$6795.
Oh.
Sony's jacked prices (and so has appliances online) ahead of the boxing day / post xmas /ny sales.
Saw a bissel spot clean got from $350 > $450 last week, now "on sale" for $353 and still available from TGGC for $300 the whole time.
The usual bullshit has started for the season.
3k and we have a deal
Not sure that's how it works but hell I'm with ya. ~2.8k!
Also disappointed people haven't got verbal with first commentor. I come for the bargains, I stay for the pointless squabbles!
Why reply and provide a counter-argument when you can simply fire away the downvote gun and receive a free endorphin boost from it.
That’s the problem with OzB, the same rule of negging deals doesn’t apply to negging comments.
I'll pay $3.1k
Nithing more than three fiddy
If you got the gift card from Coles when it was on sale you could potentially get this for 3.3k
Thanks for adding the delivery in title.
That's a lot of TV for the money
Cause it will last around 5 years if you're unlucky.
Why is this on clearance already? Didn't it only comes out a few months ago?
I'm so sad… I wanted and waited (feels like) a decade to get a OLED, bought 65" LG C1 and if I'd waited a few months could have got C2 for almost same price.
The differences between a C1 and C2 are minor at best. Enjoy what you have.
I heard C2 has much better burn in protection that C1 and I mostly use mine for games or as a third "monitor", so it still kinda stings
Does your C1 have burn in? No? So who cares.
My 5 year old LG OLED has no burn in and has been thrashed all its life. It is pretty rare to get burn in unless you do something pretty strange with the TV. Turn off all the protections from the beginning and leave Netflix on the leading screen for hours on end etc
@serpserpserp: My C8 had atrocious burn in from both a game HUD and fox sports logo. So much so they replaced the whole screen out of warranty.
@Hinee: So they fixed it then once you let them know , and hopefully you got a better screen .
Sounds like an endorsement of LG Service ,
beat that Sony bros .
So wait, this is only a B not a C?
Nah, it’s a BBC so quite a large one. 77” to be precise.
Dreddfully large.
A porn reference in the comments ,
it’s getting old maybe time to grow up also ,
It’s just tiring to read and not even close to passing for humour ,
Do better , on the humour front at least
Thanks for your opinion that I didn’t want nor care for 👍
@Maths Debater: No worries

I am due for a new TV soon but am wondering if 'OLED' the thing or is 8k the thing?
Definitely OLED. 99% of all the content you'll be watching on your TV will not be 8K. And 4K is plenty sharp enough for any TV under 120 inches. You wouldn't ever be able to tell the difference between a 4K and 8K TV at any distance for that size. On top of that, an 8K panel on a TV would be very hard to drive if you are connecting a laptop or desktop pc to it to play games. OLED is definitely the way to go. The difference between an OLED panel and a LCD panel on a TV is night and day. They have immensely better contrast, better viewing angles and better colour accuracy. I'd recommend buying a TV with a QD-OLED panel from either Samsung and Sony because they're much less likely to suffer burn in and have much better brightness compared to a typical OLED Panel (OLED doesn't tend to get as bright). You could also buy an OLED from LG if its the C3 or G3 (the G3 is exorbitantly expensive though). These offerings from LG can compete with the brightness benefits of a QD OLED panel. These TV's tend to be very expensive usually sitting well above above 6 thousand dollars. They go on sale quite often with the Samsung offering usually being the cheapest at larger sizes and providing the best price to performance. You could have bought a 77 inch Samsung QD OLED TV (the S90C) for around $4000 on Black Friday directly from Samsung. The normal retail price is $6795. I bought one near the end of October for $4500 from TheGoodGuys and with just how deep, rich and bright it is, its worth every penny.
I’m honestly torn.. I have a series 7 QLED from Samsung dating back in 2017 - it’s a 55inch and I’m now looking to wall mount a new one and retire it to the bedroom.
I can’t stand how unreliable the OS is; sometimes YouTube (and other) app works, most times it simply doesn’t load and left with a black screen. Needs to be either turned off via remote and sometimes only at the wall resets it. Frustrating af. I’ve updated to the latest fw, get ads in the OS, factory reset etc. same thing always. Ended up buying an AppleTV and the eArc works 50% of the time, thought it was the AppleTV being weird, got the Q990C hoping that would help - it didn’t lol. Have you experienced these things on the s90c?
Been also looking at the G3.. pricey yes, but these tvs generally last me a while.
I think this is mostly a problem with the OS being old and outdated. The S90C is using their newest Tizen processor and the OS is very smooth and responsive and has no ads (that's criminal). I haven't had any problems with it. The only problem I had with the S90C is that it doesn't support as many audio codecs as I'd like (No DTS Audio). And it doesn't support Dolby Vision either, though I didn't find this being a problem. Its low quality content smoothing isn't the best either but that's a nitpick too. I think any new offering from the likes of Samsung, LG or Sony will be smooth and responsive honestly. I've had no problems with the S90C. The past two TV's I've owned have both been Sony's and they have both broken within 1-3 years of use which is why I never buy TV's without buying an extended warranty now.
@Sanitygone: That’s a shame regarding DolbyVision, though I’ve seen from many reviewers that, like you said, not a problem.
I was looking at the G3.. if you had your time again, would you still recommend the s90c?
@SlifSlif: If you can afford the G3, go with the G3. Its LG's flagship offering so you can't go wrong with it. I was always set on buying the S90C because of its value. Being able to get a TV with essentially flagship specs for only $4500 was in my eyes an amazing deal. Sure it might lack a couple quality of life features (mainly DTS Audio) but its using one of the best, if not the best panel on the market right now. If you're going with LG, why not look at the C3 from LG instead of the G3? Its essentially the same TV and considerably less expensive with the only difference being according to RTINGS that the "G3 can also get much brighter than the C3; however, in practice, you won't see much difference except in certain contexts, such as when bright white clouds are displayed."
This sounds like someone asked ChatGPT to regurgitate all the usual OLED shill bullshit talking points.
Sony's x95k/95l MINI-LED is where it's at for people living in real homes without shut-in caves. You know. Windows. Natural light. Being home on the weekend / during the day. Etc.
Just buy a cheap crap TV for the kids to watch during the day, then have a room where you don't have the sun beaming in from every angle to watch TV on, because even LCD Tv's wash out when there is that much light, plus obviously all the negatives of watching LCD in low light, like when most people watch TV - after 5pm.
Bro,the Sony A95L uses the exact same panel as the S90C so I'm not sure what you're on about. Your talking points are outdated. You're right, one of the biggest drawbacks of OLED's used to be that they were very dim compared to other panel technologies. However, the LG G3 reaches a peak brightness of above 1400 nits, 200 nits more than the Sony X95K. The QD OLED S90C reaches a peak brightness above 1000 nits. The Sony A95L also uses the same QD OLED panel as the S90C and reaches a peak brightness above 1400 nits. You refuted your own point. Talk shit when you know what you're talking about.
Or save yourself $2000 and get a TCL c845 85" screen and spend that money on a nice holiday.
I've got a Panasonic OLED and that TCL. OLED is nicer BUT at best 10%. The TCL is bigger, brighter and cheaper= better value.
Really depends on your needs Anyone who talks in absolutes should be ignored. LCD still is great as an all rounder because a lot people still have bright living rooms. Size for the price can't be beat and size really does make a difference regardless of picture quality.
Note that it may be worth seeing what price you can get a 77 G3 down to - my experience I was able to get to $4135 delivered at TGG just a few weeks back.
Yeah we fully believe you , you got a g3 77 inch for $4135.
LOL
I saw pigs fly last night
Sorry, I lied. It was $4130 - and I paid that using discounted gift cards bringing the price down another 15%.
Here is the Receipt
Oof. Clown just got shutdown.
@dwhes: no i didn't muppet. it's a display unit. so ead. yeah
@FullTimeClown: Sorry clown better luck next time, wasn’t a display unit.
@dwhes: display unit muppet
@FullTimeClown: Not a display unit - don't understand your beef with someone getting a good deal and sharing the details.
@FullTimeClown: Clearly states in receipt its on back order. 3-4 weeks
Yeah, good price for a display unit
Not sure where your getting that from, this was brand new - had to be ordered as LG were OOS initially. As noted you could get this price or there abouts direct from LG during the black friday sales if you had a 30% off spin and win - that is precisely what I showed to TGG and got them to match and ultimately beat (especially since I could get gift cards for a further 15% off). If your not trying to negotiate a better deal your not really pushing the 'bargain' barrier right?
Post your receipt
Missed this. If it is 4135 for G3, definitely a bargain.
Bought this a few weeks back at mid 3s to replace Sony led. Display is fantastic. LG OS sucks balls. I try to avoid dealing with it by loading straight into the Shield or PS but there's always some sort of attempt by LG to assert itself on boot.
At 3 I think it's a good price point to get into OLED at that size. Helps that Rtings gives this model a good wrap
The OS is just terrible, I have it on a projector. Cynical me makes me think they created the pointer wand because it sucks so hard.
damn, my 77CS for $2985 still unbeatable! thanks spin n win :D
Luckily I pulled the trigger on the 30% coupon from LG for my 77” G3 comes down to $4135.
Bait advertising.
Every store in VIC says "View display model & order in store" meaning there's "No Stock" and you can't order it because it is now discontinued.
I don't get why people are jumping up and down over this, it's one of the max thickness tvs on the market.
Could everyone that gives a shit about thickness please downvote this comment.
Conversely everyone that doesn't, let's hit that upvote button, oh and please like and subscribe.
You would not be saying this if you were in the market for a new laptop !
Yes, a comparable product, like my highly portable 75" TV.
Meanwhile, Sony is selling the 77” A80L for $5,975 😂
