External Chromecast 4K does not recognise TCL 75" 75P8MR volume/power

Hey everyone,

Ive had my TCL tv for about 3 years now and the built in chromecast is so slow and laggy that i finally got an external chromecast 4k.

However, I cannot seem to get the volume/power buttons to map to the TV's own ones. As a result I have to use two remotes (TCL remote to turn the TV on, CC remote to operate the CC).

It does NOT pair with any of the TCL, Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba options in the chromecast.

Has anyone experienced this?

Anyone know how to solve this?

    Settings > remote and accessories

    Setup remote buttons > volume control

    Set to chromecast

      Do you have the same issue?

      Yes that works but the power button still won't work.

        No idea about the power button. I use my chromecast via a monitor.

    Plugged into the ARC port?

    Looks like the TV has ARC, if this was enabled and it was plugged into an ARC port, you wouldn't need to pair it or anything, just plug in and start using the volume buttons
