Interesting; in the NSW Catalogue it shows Luv A Duck Frozen Duck Size 21 2.1kg for $15 ($7.14/kg)
The last time there was a similar priced deal, it was $15 in-store in Sydney Coles.
THanks OP
$15 in VIC metro area as wellJust in time for Christmas! Thanks Op
its like the James Bond in Tokyo movie
love you long time, give you very good duck
Aiming for 4 ducks this time
In a row or in a zombie pattern?
Quack, quack, quack, quack….
Banga, banga bazoka. Missed one quack a doodlee.
I still don't understand why some states are cheaper than others… Like if it's soft drink then fine but seriously everything else needs to be consistent.
They're different sizes, take a look at the catalogs.
QLD has size 19 ducks, NSW has size 21 (1.9KG and 2.1KG)
Price per kilo is about 0.02c different.
Not a chicken or a cow
Quacking deal!
Phuk-a-duck
Memory…..
I read this as 'Live Frozen Duck' at first.
Freezing them live locks in the flavour
What's the best way to cook a 2kg frozen duck? Defrost in the fridge for 2 days then roast?
BBQ.
Defrost for two days in the refrigerator, roast and use the leftovers for Thai duck red curry.
and save the fat for potatoes
and use the frame and miscellaneous bits for DUCK SOUP .. 😛 .. !!
I usually do 1-2 day defrost then carve it up and do 3 things with it;
1. pan fry/bake the breast, slice and eat with hoisin sauce, shallots and the duck pancakes they sell at coles.the carcass and the legs I make into a curry.
the fat I cut off render down and then bake potatoes with it.
I'm too lazy to do a proper Peking duck for the pancakes but I find cooking the breast and slicing and having with pancakes is almost just as good. Its also great BBQ'd, I just put cubes onto a metal kebab stick and roast over flames.
I don’t understand why they are smaller in qld, given that they probably farm them here more? Last time Aldi had them, they were proper 2.1kgs, then another batch dropped down to 1.9kgs.
They probably sent the first batch of fully grown 2.1kgs ducks to Victoria or some other state that will buy more ducks than they produce.
Shrinkflation .. even ducks are 'on trend'.. 😂 .. ……. …….
Thanks OP. This should fit the bill for Christmas🦆
