Gaming Chair Recommendations

Hello Everyone,

As usual, I'm late organizing all my Xmas presents. I have a daughter slim build approx 165cm who wants a gaming chair. She needs one that arm rests fold right down or removable so can go under desk. She likes the look of the https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/typhoon-vi…

Does anyone have any feedback of these or other suggestion. Looking to spend somewhere around $150-$300, but would spend a little more if something better options available.

Thanks for help. I understand some on here say all gaming chairs are crap, but she likes the look of them too.

  • assuming going for the fabric one..this actually looks ..okay?

Usually the 1st thing to go other than PU leather is the gas mechanism I find - but at $269 I dont think theres much more comparable options even at ikea.

  • Ikea?

  • A year or two old but something for reference? https://www.reddit.com/r/AskAnAustralian/comments/qwnrcu/bes…

I had the Bathurst one before, it did fall to pieces as the comments in the reddit post say - the chair itself was alright but the fabric would discolour, peel and crack.

So I bought the Secret Lab chairs for like $700 or something, but tbh I feel they are waaaay overpriced, wouldn't buy it again.

Hope you find something good for your daughter.

Gaming chairs are almost universally a scam - poorly made and designed chairs with a racing stripe and a cool design.

Everyone is much better off on a good quality office chair

I know it's kogan, but I've been sitting on this chair since 2021 till now, so far it's been better than any gaming chair I've sited before.

got adjustable back support, adjustable back angles, adjustable seat position(forward/backward), adjustable arm rest, head rest….

and it's mesh so doesn't get hot in summer.

  • Just my advice do not buy a gaming chair from Officeworks.

Even if your daughter is small she will end up sitting on a pancaked piece of foam.

Maybe take her into IKEA or let her have a browse on that website I would definitely suggest that route

Currently sitting on a crappy Bathurst racing chair waiting to put a brand-new IKEA Marcus together.

That chair in particular is probably too big for your daughter but I would definitely check out IKEA

I've only just gone down the IKEA route but the warranty is nuts.
