Hi want to buy a new ipad do you think a 32 is enough to hold 6 movies and 3 weeks travel pics, also is it worth buying the 4 g version or just buy one of the wifi travel modems and connect into it when needed most of the time I would only use it around home. Looking around the cheapest way to buy one fast is Big W using cards purchased at the RAC for 5% discount then claiming the GST next week when I go O/S . any advice

In deciding on whether or not to get 3G you might like to take into consideration the fact that telstras prepaid data is HEAPS cheaper on Ipad plans ie the $30 starter packs that regularly come on sale for $10 would buy you 3gb of data.
How big is the movies file size first of all. If you are talking a standard non hd movie size then yes. Regarding Internet access prolly it's cheaper to buy local SIM card which has prepaid Internet data and put it to your mobile then run tethering so your iPad can connect to Internet from your mobile.
Yes this is how I manage my iPad. Stream from phone when needed. However need to consider if streaming is free from your carrier. Some charge a $10/month penalty
might want to consider the 64g since you may put more than 6 movies plus 3 weeks of photos including videos on a holiday could be a lot and the worse thing that could happen is running out of space while youre out and having to delete something to get more space for more photos, on the plus side you have keep those memories in your ipad when youre back from your holiday to show other and still take more photo, in another word the ipad could be more than just a gadget for your holiday get away.
getting ipad with 3g cost about $200 dollar extra, if you have wifi at home theres really no need and if your smartphone can do hotspot than why not use it, maybe you can get one of those starter kit while youre over there.

There is no 4G version, its only 3G. I would just buy the wi-fi model since you mainly use it around the house. 32GB should be enough but it depends on the quality of your movies
