  • I was there recently and used one-2-call. They apparently have the best coverage, you can get a simcard and credit at 7/11

See here for data plans: http://www.ais.co.th/12call/en/promotion_special.html

  • Thanks daveaus

Will have to study their data plans when fully awake

Pretty sure 7/11 staff won't be able to give reliable advice

    • Yeah the 7/11 staff won't know the plans at all, ignore all the different types of simcards on the one-2-call webpage you go to 711 and just ask for one-2-call sim, assuming your in some sort of touristy area they will understand. They handed me a full size one automatically I assume they will have ipad sized ones as well.

  • Cheers Dave

  • Hi Harribo, just arrived back from Bangkok and used a one 2 call, cost me roughly $3 AUD for the micro sim for my iPhone 4S and I think around $12 AUD for either 1 or 1.5gb of data (obviously they have larger data plans for sale). Once loaded I used the personal hotspot on my phone to surf the net on my iPad no problems. A lot of places have Sim cutters to cut the sim down to size if the iPhone is not an option.
Went to Singapore, Bali, Thailand & Kualu Lumpur, purchased a Sim in each country and everywhere I bought it, the shop assistant set it up on my iPhone….for free ! (Including 7-11's)
    Enjoy your holiday

  • Hi Goldberg666

good to have some additional information

had thought about the hotspot option via my iphone already ( just in case )

    Thanks for sharing your experience

  • No probs, haggle hard for goodies while you're there :)
