Couple of these are free 30 or 15 minute trials, the other two are free

    • +1

All were free, the first two had the option of a trial but under that there was a 'get' button.

Although smash runner needed to a rift so not sure what that is?

Are any of them worthwhile installing , given the difficulty of deleting things

      • +1

what's the issue with deleting if you don't mine elaborating? TIA

        • +4

After uninstalling the games, they still show up as icons in your app library. If you want to have them removed you actually need to contact Meta to have the icon deleted. Stupid right?

One way to make it look neater is to filter your apps by Installed and so it doesn't show uninstalled apps.

          • @AcousticJZ: yeah, and I have whatsapp & messenger stuck on my library now why would I use it in vr vs my phone?

            • @furyou: Actually I find it kinda useful with WhatsApp I've got multiple screens up watching YouTube and having WhatsApp on another window. And the WhatsApp notifications are very handy for me, some ppl might hate it.

              • @AcousticJZ: I'm still trying to learn how to use the Q3. ATM I can get the desktop up, and use my KB/mouse in VR. But the window management feels strange.
How do you eg open a window for a video? Deovr opens full screen so you can't run it on the side.

                • @furyou: If you're talking using the meta workspace app - that is literally just a virtual environment for your desktop, and you can create up to 3 screens. They behave exactly like normal PC monitors do.

The people who carry around a YouTube video and place it around their house are just using the internet app in their home environment, just with Passthrough turned on.

Hoping that's what you meant at least.

                  • @fratzhaus: I don't know what they are named it's the one when you open airlink And you Are in a grey room.
Then you can open various floating windows. But can only mirror 1 desktop monitor or it will break/flicker.

                    • @furyou: Might just be poor local wireless network? the PC app for airlink used to have a more in depth screen where you could both monitor quality of the connection, and adjust settings (worse or better) depending on what your network can handle.

Airlink (at least on Quest 1/2) could be impacted pretty heavily by appliances (e.g. microwave) - so it might be worth just making sure where you are doing airlink has both good connectivity, and isn't impacted by other appliances… Otherwise it sounds like its working, just struggling to maintain it.

                      • @fratzhaus: The rest of it is pretty stable. I think there's a bug with 2nd desktop monitor as I saw others having issues. Games are fine anyway. But only 60hz even when 90 enabled on headset & steam.
