Nokia Fastmile 5g Gateway 3.2

Hello everyone,

I have a 5G modem that has been working fine for a few months, but it has recently been going offline for days. I have tried resetting it back to factory default, which sometimes gets it working again for a day or two, but then it drops off again.

I have been searching online for a solution and came across a superadmin account to try and patch the firmware as there are no options within the standard admin login, but none of the login details I found seems to work. Does anyone know of any other login details I can try or have any tips to help me get this unit working again?

Thank you for your assistance.

How, pray tell, did you come by this device?

If it is faulty, is it your responsibility to fix or replace it, rather than whoever you got it from.

    • Retail purchase. I've been reading that some other users have had overheating issues. But I also thought the sim might be faulty, so I will test and see if that is the case.

The unit works fine with any LAN connection is just the 5g/4g connection that is dropping.

    • yes, thats the model

  • Have you had a look at this yet?

Follow the instructions onwards from the heading "Broadcom Firmware Dumping via CFE Bootloader"

Then you will be able to get an encrypted version of the config, which u can decrypt with the tool referenced in part 1 of the article

(Not sure if it applies for 3.2 of the hardware. How can u tell which version you have?)

  • I have a Huawei B818 and have used it with both Optus and Telstra.
I experience an issue possibly similar to youself where the 4g connection drops and the only way to fix it is by restarting the modem (on both Optus and Telstra)

Optus advised me that there are too many connections to the 4g tower and you get booted off (Im not sure how true or accurate that is tho!) - and theres nothing they can do

I was thinking of upgrading to a Nokia Fastmile, but I may think again
