    • do you get anything for your $99 ?

A little welcome gift and have your ego massaged for a year, perhaps?

  • no I joined free at the Good Food and Wine Show… but I have ordered a nice 6 bottles more as a gift for other people.

The deal sounds great, but what's the point of this club? I don't see how people can make value out of a $99 investment. Do they send out freebies and stuff? Or is this just some Qantas revenue raiser?

epiQure by Qantas Frequent Flyer members can gain a wealth of knowledge with our Neil Perry recipes

      • +3

Great, recipes for the food they give you on the plane….

    • If you go through the "join" process without entering the promo code above, you get a choice of "free" gifts for your $99 payment (eg Billecart-Salmon champagne etc), so there's some "reward", if you'd call it that…

      • +3

        that's a bit shonky…

Im going to + this and join because who knows what can happen over the next year. The haters will be kicking themselves in a few months if some awesome sauce deal pops up and they cant join in because it'l cost them 100 clams.

    • Well said.

    • -4

      They sell wine, not sauce

    Good deal.

Here's an example of one that I like:
    Xanadu Chardonnay
Qantas: $21.50 per bottle, plus 3 FF points per dollar spent
    Uncle Dans: $26.99 per bottle

  • Interesting first newsletter arrived and states

Members will receive a bonus 2,000 points after purchasing their first 12 bottles of wine and an additional bonus 8,000 points after purchasing their first 48 bottles of wine. Bonus offers are only redeemable once per member and eligible purchases must occur in the first 12 months of membership.

Hopefully true as I just purchased a mixed dozen :)

    • +1

Confirmed just got the tax receipt Triple points on the wine plus bonus 2000 :)

  • +1

Complimentary membership, good enough. Doesn't force you to buy anything. Some good deal might just pop up.

  • I'm sure most people know this, but you can get free Qantas Frequent Flyer membership simply by signing up to the Woolworths Everyday rewards card, which is also free.

  • Joined just because it's free :)

  • Also, for some of the bonus restaurants you get an extra point-per-dollar (i.e. from 3 to 4 points/$) and not have to pay $99 for the privilege, which I guess is good if you go to any of those restaurants.

  • +2

You can get cheaper at Dan Murphys!

Also, you don't need to purchase this to gain free Qantas FF. When filling out the membership form for Qantas Frequent Flyer, if you put in any address outside Australia as your mailing address and you will get the membership for free anyway! Qantas just likes to rip off Aussies!

  • Nothing beats the wine market deals ESP with $30 off. I got a case of a great wine for under $40 still going prob last me til end of next year! With cracker wines and wine market I don't see the point of this club unless its for super fancy pants wine (which I don't really care for anyways).
