Cheapest Solar Security Camera (eufy Solocam S340 Budget Equivalent)

After watching this video on the Eufy Solocam S340 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNuJGVZHixo it got me wondering what is the best value aka cheapest solar camera out there?

The Eufy Solocam S340 goes for about $400 never seen it on sale yet well I just found out about it a few days ago so yeah I am wondering is there anything cheaper with similar specs.. aka powered by the sun aka no wires and for my purposes I just need motion detection alerts (will only be using it for alerting deliveries that is it not even really for security)

Is this a one of a kind product or is there other cheaper knock offs that will do the job for less.

Again I only need one to link up to my home wifi and send me motion alerts for when food delivery and packages arrive don't need the fancy AI features.

  • Have you considered a doorbell camera. I have this Eufy one: https://www.bunnings.com.au/eufy-video-doorbell-1080p-with-m…
If you are just using it for motion alerts the battery should last a few months before recharging is required. Links to your wifi, app is easy to use and much cheaper option

    • looks good 120 day charge how does it charge is it battery powered or do you charge it via cable

i will keep it on the list trying to find the cheapest camera with powered forever type technology aka solar power like the eufy solocam s340

but this is good back up option

btw any idea if there is any windows 11 desktop pc integration like can i monitor it from my win11 pc?

      • The doorbell unit is removed from it's holder using a pin release system. Charges using a micro usb cable. Not sure about windows pc integration but runs well with android app on my phone and also works with google, e.g. can display image on demand on google home hub. The doorbell unit also has a micro sd to save images and video to so you don't need to use the cloud. It only records and displays video when motion detected or doorbell is rang, not 24/7 video recording.

      • no pc option unless you want to maybe look at an android emulator maybe

        • Are there any cameras that work with windows like have windows alert notifications

          • @AlienC: not an out of the box solution i know of, the only thing i could think of is to roll your own system based around RTSP viewer of choice

  • Not sure if you've seen already, but the Eufy S340 looks to be about $287 today at JB HiFi after extra 10% off. I guess you don't need the Homebase if you don't need to store much video?

For alternatives I've been looking at Reolink where I could put an 128gb microSD and so at least have some amount of security footage stored. Not really cheaper if you want like-for-like though (TrackMix + Solar Panel) if you don't need the automatic motion-tracking then could look at their Argus line?
