Noticed that some venues )subway and Oporto I'm talking about you) are no longer taking pick up orders… Sure I was in true ozbargain style using the lunch $5 off discount codes but its still frustrating in this cost of living crisis that they want to force us onto delivery or to use their own in house app which is more expensive. Especially when I work a minute walk from food court….

You need pretty close to 50% off the delivery app prices for it to be worth it
Yes minimum spend $15 but getting $5 off a $15 sub was actually cheaper than using the subway app.
Subway and Oporto are fast food joints.. it usually takes less than 5 minutes in and out. Is it worth paying Menulog 20% (or whatever the percentage for a pickup order is) of the total price to save those few minutes?
I never made Pickup orders from the apps anyway. For a proper restaurant, i would always call the restaurant directly to order so that they don't have to pay the apps. Most restaurants then gave a discount for the direct order anyway. For fast food places, just rock up and order.
Especially when I work a minute walk from food court….
Then just go there and order your food in person?
It's more effort and planning, but you could consider making lunch if you're finding it difficult to stump up the cost of buying takeout.
Make a sandwich at home
tin of tuna and a bread roll.
yeah but nothing hit like a footlong italian bmt on italian herb, toasted, old english cheese, all the veggies, southwest chipolte, salt and pepper, 6 pack of cookies, large coke no sugar and a small side of Southern Style Chicken Bites for that irresistible peppery, southern-style flavour hit.
I miss that jumbo cup of post-mix Coke
still frustrating in this cost of living crisis
If you can afford to buy via Menulog, then you aren't suffering from the cost of living crisis.
Especially when I work a minute walk from food court….
Walk there and do it then? Actually giving money DIRECTLY to the shop rather than Menulog taking their clip of the price.
Ive never really bothered to check but surely by the time service fee, and the menulog markup is added on it would be cheaper just to order it from the subway counter?
There is probably some loyalty bonus involved if you use the subway app?
Didnt the $5 off have a min spend too?
