Parallella: A Supercomputer For Everyone $99

This project on kickstarter for a dual core ARM A9 with 16 or 64 core accelerator looks interesting, and it looks like a good deal for $99.

A powerful multicore computer that is low cost to run, and great if you are into parllel computing.

Anyone have any thoughts, and is anyone buying one?

Comments

  • great if you are into parllel computing.

"Into" parallel computing is quite different from accessing available software for it. Most consumer software can hardly utilise quad core on the phone/tablet let along 16 or 64 cores. Most super computer runs quite specific software for specific purposes. I don't quite expect it to power my next smart TV yet :)
