Has anyone got experience claiming from their content insurance for damages on their ipad/ iphone?
I know that the experience in claiming Apple Care is very good but condering the $400+ upfront plus excess, seems a lot.

What does Apple sell that's under a grand?
Cables?
Not sure if this is true. I don't believe that extra amount is correct. There is extra but not even nearly that much.
Car insurance is different, as likelihood of repeat accidents from same owner is high.
Source: I claimed before.
Even if $200-300 is true, which it isn't.
But if it is. It's still cheaper than $200 pa per item for each apple device? If have like 6, that's like $1000 savings then
Apple Care+ also provides you with 24/7 premium support. A lot of us here won't need that support because we can figure it out ourselves, but for some people who need constant support for basic things it would be good value for money. And things like battery service if health goes below 80% (which should be rare if you use healthy battery options, my Apple Watch is set to charge to 80% only and it's still 100% battery health even though it's years old).
OP, Have you read the PDS/WTF that you are trying to use to eventually claim on? If yes then the contract will/should have the info in it.'
If you have not read the conditions then you are up a Darwin creek or the Daley river with on a leaking boat and will be gone as soon as you fall out of the boat.
Not everything is written in wtf.
For example prices isn't listed
Gio pds said that claim up to $1000 for anywhere in aus and nz, not including theft outside home I think.
The extra premium is about $50 pa for unlimited devices up to total $1000.
Yes iphone worth a lot more than that, but I guess this cover the screen breaks.
I did, in the end I would have preferred to have used AppleCare. I do think the idea of making claims is important to consider, however we have also made claims for our pets so wouldn’t have made a huge difference anyway.
The other consideration is that a single policy for accidental or extra claims will also cover other things you might take with you other than just your phone or laptop or what have you. But, factor in the extra cost of insurance premiums every year versus AppleCare or whatever.
Hi. Bear in mind that if you claim on your contents insurace, you'll have to tick "Yes" to "Have you made a claim in the past X years?" when renewing your contents insurance (regardless of who you choose.)
Adds a minimum of $200-$300 extra per year for the next few years. That alone makes it pointless to claim anything under a grand or so in value.
