It's 1st Dec which means NBN SAU has officially kicked in for all RSPs. Aussie Broadband looks to be the first RSP to drop the price for the high speed tiers for the new NBN business offerings.

NBN have now included enhanced service level agreements (eSLA) by default with NBNs TC4 business product therefore, NBN faults should technically be resolved faster with same day NBN tech appointments.

  • Requires an ABN to sign up to business plans.
  • No contract plan
  • Free Static IP

New plans:

Speed New Price Was Technology Type
100/40 $115 per month (12 hour NBN service level agreement) N/A FTTP, FTTB, FTTC, FTTN, HFC
250/100 $149 per month (4 hour NBN service level agreement) $209 per month FTTP only
500/200 $199 per month (4 hour NBN service level agreement) $319 per month FTTP only
1000/400 $299 per month (4 hour NBN service level agreement) $429 per month FTTP only

After speaking to the sales rep, you need to go through sales to get NBN 100/40 - $115 with eSLA offering as it's a new offering.

Eligible properties can change from nbn FTTN to FTTP or FTTC to FTTP (select areas). After typing in your address it might say $0 Fibre Upgrade Available. The FTTN to FTTP minimum upgrade speed for businesses is 100/40 or higher. The FTTC to FTTP minimum upgrade speed for businesses is 250/100 or higher.

  • Still tc4 though?!! Meh

      What's tc4?

      • +1

        Traffic Class.
        TC1 = VOIP
TC2 = when you are preferencing critical services like for video conferencing, or servers, or VPS traffic.
TC4 = general internet use and is suitable for residential use.

Before anyone gets shocked by the prices, just remember this is NOT for consumers, business services with SLA's are very different.

    • +6

      I had a panic attack

      • There are pills for that ;)

    • The upload speeds on these are also much higher than consumer plans.

      • Very true for the plans above 100/40, great point! :)

Quite aggressive pricing even though for businesses. Its not like they are promising service restoration in minutes which means you anyway need to have some backup. For home based business, i still prefer to go consumer with these ridiculous rates.

I'd be happy with a crappy SLA on a 1000/400 for a cheaper price.

Currently paying $119 for 1000/50, wouldn't mind paying a bit more for 400 upload.

      • How much you uploading?

        • Currently not much, but I'd like to start hosting plex for rhe whole family ;)

The wholesale price dropped to $230 for 1000/400 today and drops again to $125 in July.

I suppose things will get interesting then.

        • Wait what? 1000/400 wholesale price will virtually half again?

I've done the odd day with Launtel which is great but $10 a day hurts.

Weird I did the foem.to.see if you're eligible for a free upgrade to FTTP (we're on HFC) and it says

"GREAT NEWS! IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE ALREADY ON A CONNECTION THAT SUPPORTS OUR HIGH-SPEED PLANS"

I've tried a 400/50 plan and get 220/46 so now sure how they're offering

    NBN® 250/100
    NBN® 500/200
    NBN® 1000/400

HFC is not getting upgraded by NBN for free.

You can either upgrade to fibre using Technology Choice Program or sign up for a NBN Enterprise Ethernet plan (totally different story). Both options are $$$$.

I figured that, but ABB are offering me the speed tiers above which are FttP.speeds, not HFC speeds. No mention of upfront costs. Where when I selected ethernet plans they wanted some serious coin to upgrade.

        • This is normal as you are asking NBN to run a fibre cable to your home in an area that already has a high speed service (1000/50 HFC), for a business grade fibre service to be installed, it's very different :)

      • I'm getting NBN EE for my office.. waiting for site inspection currently

  • really really good to see more ISP getting the higher upload NBN FTTP plans out, I've been on 250/100 with Launtel for a couple of years now and love having that 100mbps upload speed.

I'm paying about $126 a month though on an older plan so not going to make the jump to ABB but if they get the price down a bit more I may give it a go.

    • They appear to have been gradually introducing higher-rated upload-based plans over the past 12 months or so, they just hadn't made the plans as easily accessible on the site.
