Boost Mobile Recorded Wrong Birth Date in My Account

Long story short, Telstra shop staff helped to activate my Boost mobile prepaid sim last year and ported my Amaysim number over to Boost. Now that it's closer to expiry, i am planning to port out my existing number for a couple of days to Aldi $5 prepaid sim and then port back to Boost using the $230 starter sim (selling on ebay for $207) .

I tried to log into my Boost account just now using my birth date, but i was unable to. It was really annoying, so i swapped my day to month and month to day, and i managed to log in using the incorrect birth date!

Question: Am i still able to port my existing number to Aldi mobile given Boost has recorded my birth date incorrectly in their system? I can't change my birth date in Boost account but i definitely want to keep this existing mobile number, what else can i do?

    What’d Boost say when you asked them?

    • Boost gave me a reference number and asked that i go back to a Telstra shop to get the correction done.

    This happened to me many years ago, but I didn’t realise until I tried to port out and after 5 days of waiting for the port to complete, and having to follow up myself, that’s when we figured it out.

    No, it will not go through if the DOB is wrong. You need to get Boost to update the birth date on their end first. Best to do this before you attempt to initiate the port.

        Another way is the date and month are of the same figure, e.g. 6th June.

        Yes, I never have this issue. About 65%+ people are immune to it.

    Same thing happened to my mum on Boost. This is a good way for them to lock you in. She's still with Boost, but by choice. But will be good to fix the DOB for the future.

    You can try to set up your Aldi account with the wrong DOB too!

    Some telco's ask for DOB twice - once for ID check, another for porting. I'm not sure exactly what Aldi does.

    Further, some Telco's make it a real PITA to fix your dob once it's wrong. Ideally you need to figure out which telco makes it easy, port to them … then fix it.

    • No way. Set up wrong DOB would only create more troubles in future.
