I've never seen this before and I have a few pre-Prospex Seiko Solars. It's kinda interesting because black/silver isn't a common cw. The 360 video thing is kinda nifty

I kinda want it because older Seiko Solar models are more varied and interesting than the current solar range which is basically Tuna, mini Tuna, Arnie, Sumo, Speedy, and a diver can't remember the name.

Even though it's an Omega Speedmaster clone it's a quality watch at a great price.Nice one OP….
As is this one for $249
    SEIKO SSB347

It looks nothing like a Speedy. Not every 3 subdial chrono is a Speedy clone

iirc Brietling beat Omega by a few years anyway, so an Omega Speedmaster is a Brietling clone

Careful dynaflow - the watch police here will get you.

But seriously - I’m buying. Thanks for posting

    • The subdials aren't even in the same configuration as a speedy lol. What are the similarities…?

Got this a couple of years ago for $244, also from Amazon. But given inflation, it's probably about where the price should be.

    • Do you like it? Hows the quality like? Any major scratches?

  • +1

you have enough watches. leave some for the rest of us stud. plus didn't your shrink say no more?

  • There's something about this one that screams "shirt with flames on the bottom"

Also, read the first review on Amazon. It's cursed!

    • Local watchmaker has quoted $550 for a new capacitor

lol I've replaced one in an old seiko solar for $40

      • What are your thought on Seiko solar vs Citizen solar?

I've never had a Seiko solar but I get the feeling Citizen have a better reputation with their Eco-Drive models.

        • +2

Seiko don't seem to care much about improving their solar movements, or expanding thier range. Only complications they have is day/date, chrono, and GMT which only happened recently with their GMT Sumos. But replacing the battery/capacitor is pretty easy if you have the tools and know what you're doing. Cost me $40.

Citizen Eco-Drives have had GMT for ages, like I don't think it'd be hard to add and extra hand but Seiko only did it this year and they sounded so proud in the press release. Additional Eco-drive complications/functions that I know of:

          GMT/World time/12/24 hr Time
          Perpetual Cal
          Radio Control
Sensors like altitude and depth (there's prob more)
          Compass
          Alarms
          Countdown timer
          Power reserve indicator
          Low power warning
          Longer power reserve

That's off the top of my head, there's probably more.

          Eco-Drive >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Seiko Solar

Have a number of both. Citizen solar much better than Seiko by far. There's absolutely no comparison.
