When did rackets break the $400 mark brand new….

      A few years ago.

These also aren't the usual retail racquets and are closer to the H22 pro stock moulds the pros actually use.

so if you can't decide which one to get, let me help you since i own both string patterns.

    (16x19)
for most players its easier to hit with power, spin, and to hit to the backline. the more open string pattern grabs the ball for more spins and catapults it for more power.

    (18x20)
do not get this unless you are a more advanced players that hit through the ball with more of a flat shot. great for slicing. you have to put the work into this racquet, but already have a full arc swing.

I start with the 18x20, and switch to the 16x19 after a very long match where i am getting fatigued.

Got free 15 racquets (16x19) per year, sponsored from Wilson Australia.

They are good but added lead tapes on 6 and 9.

Played tennis casually for a while, first time buying my own racket.

I bought the minions racket few days ago during cyber deals for $52. Figured i get the cheapest racket with graphite in it. What am i missing compared to this?

    • yours is 285g strung weight vs 305g unstrung (close to 330 once strung), so a lighter easier to swing racquet, although with less momentum to crush the ball. Yours is also slightly head heavy, vs the blade being weighted towards the handle. This is for advanced players to generate their own power. Head heavy also tends to increase chance of injury as theres more stress on your joints. You've also got a bigger head size vs the blade, so more power, but less control.

TLDR yours is a racquet thats easier to swing, designed for infrequent use, that generates easier power for beginners.

  • Is there any difference here except for the colour? I can't see any, same weight 305g:

Comparing the 16x19 models - the Blade 98 and the Blade Pro both weigh the same 305 grams unstrung, however the balance points are different, with the Blade Pro having extra weight in the head, giving it a higher swing weight and can be more difficult to handle.

The Pro model is aimed towards more advanced players, with intermediate players probably being better suited to the 98 or other Blade models.

  • This guy says they're the same. Am I missing something?

  • Extra $20 if you want strings lol

  • What’s the difference between the normal 305g blade? Thanks guys
