Out of curiosity, what is the average price of some common flowers, like roses, at the Sydney Flower Market?
People keep saying it's $$$$ way cheaper than retailers, but how much are we talking about here? Is it still valid in 2023?

Don't forget getting up bright and early to go.
Almost may as well not bother going to bed. They're usually closing and out of the good stuff by 5am.
You're saying if you get up at 4am and go to the market, you can't mingle around as an independent shopper and purchase?
That's the thing, you never hear what rates the early morning people get. It's so gated. Any ex-florists care to comment?

Average Cost of Flowers at Sydney Flower Markets?
$12
Had been to the Flemington on about 6 months back at around 730AM Saturday, not sure if it's open to general public other days. Flowers generally were about 40% lesser priced than regular flower shops. Worth visiting if you have a big requirement $100+, but for something smaller, not worth the effort og going in there early.
Google it. Lots of articles online
eg: https://www.sydneymarkets.com.au/blog/articles/2017/08/09/in…
Genuinely haven't seen an article that puts a price tag on the flowers. And neither does the one you linked. Of course they fluctuate, but even articles would post a butcher's pricing ranges.
“Whilst flowers and potted plants are sold about a third of the retail price“
The article answers some of the other, subsequent questions that you asked.
Sorry that I wasn't able to totally wipe your bottom on this occasion.
Thanks! I'll keep you on speed dial, just in case I need an expert wipe in the future.
If it's anything like the food markets on the Saturday the answer is yes much cheaper
I believe you need to be a trader to get access (this is how it's done in Melbourne) and go through induction etc.
And then you get to the vendors who all sell stuff at different rates because they have different suppliers etc etc etc.
After you buy the flowers there you need to make them presentable because they're not florist floor ready, mostly.
It's a lot of effort to save a few bucks on some flowers, unless it's your new business.
