Hi Folks,
Requesting your reviews and insights for Samsung 75’’ Q70C QLED 4k 2023 TV.

Sales rep recommends geetting this over TCL C845 or Hisense U7.

Please note booked the Samsung one in BF deal but can cancel and go for TCL if thats better.

  • I chose the C845 because of the brightness of our living room. I had read good things about it. I haven't got it yet, so i can't really comment on how good it is.
but made the decision based on it being miniLED and Android.

    • Mine is bright too ! Makes sense. Thanks

Looking for any Oz bargainers who have bought the QC 70

  • how useful is the extra 10"? I use my tcl 75" (P745- cheaper than C745) as a monitor as well, and am comfortable with not as good picture (particularly noticeable in blacks sometimes a bit greyish). For me, size was the main criteria.

I can't comment on comparative picture quality of the models you quote.

Noteworthy that TCL is 3 year warranty (and perhaps hisense?) but samsung and all other mainstream makers are 1 year warranty. In theory consumer law reduces the importance ….. but that's only in theory.

I had to be very lateral thinking (creative- working out the national marketing manager's number, then getting put through to him, then telling him about the current affairs expose on their warranty regarding my tv….to get samsung to do something about a tv a few years ago that failed just after the 1 year warranty expired.
Consumer affairs wasn't interested, and going to small claims court was a pain.

    • Thanks for your inputs

  • I don't have any of those models, but my experience with Chinese branded TVs, including TCL (in hotels) is that they are slow to start, and the onboard software (Android I think) is often buggy. I have two Samsung TVs, a 65" QLED and an ancient 46", both are fast startup and work very well. The Samsung app store only has a limited range of apps, so if that's your thing, an aftermarket device (Chromecast, Firestick, etc) is a solution.

    • Thanks you ! This are some real good inisights. I am not too fussy about the apps. My priority is picture quality for a bright living room and how SD or HD are upscaled.

Frankly, Hisense and TCL provide good bang for buck but quantum dot and Samsung’s brand value inclined me towards the Samsung QC70.

There are few reviews online but not too many and hence asked here if Oz Bargainers have real time experience with this model

  • +1

    Have you checked rtings.com?
Usually the first place I go for any monitor/TV review.

    • Rtings says 7.3/10 ( Mixed usage). Assuming overall score of 7+ is good.

No specific review for the TCL C845

Hence was checking if anyone has bought and used the Samsung one. I have never used Samsung as my TV brand. It has been Sony and LG in the past.

The C845 seems popular if I go by the recent sales.

I am in two minds, whether to keep the Samsung Q70C order or cancel and order the TCL 845. Any inputs ?

  • SO should I cancel QC70C and go for TCL C845 ?

    • I would. I saw them both side by side at the store yesterday and the TCL leaves this TV for dead. Not even worthy of comparison. If you can see them at the store, so you can make your own decision.
