When using security products, open source is usually a better choice. I also personally used both and prefer Lulu for this. I think Litte Snitch has better UI/UX though :-)

This is for Little Snitch 5.7.1. The cynic in me is thinking they're probably really close to a paid upgrade to Little Snitch 6.
Sure it's a possibility, but note it's their usual BF deal.
I got Little Snitch 3 from them in 2015 and Little Snitch 4 in 2018. It's 2023 now (!) and they're at version 5.

I have purchased it since 2016 and it is still working well on multiple generations of Macs. I am able to update the latest version when there are new releases.
