Network Music Player Suggestion

G'day, kiddos like music.

What Android app do you recommend that I could put in a tablet for them and it would play music with a super easy home-screen-shortcut that would on a single click go and play a playlist for them?

OK, doesn't have to be a playlist, can be a folder. Preferably a folder on a network share off my NAS, but I can live with manually dropping files.

IE a home screen shortcut for Christmas music, or another for upbeat music, etc.

Happy to pay some money for the app. with twins, log then into the same Google account and get two happy kids for the price of one app purchase.

Maybe it doesn't even have to be an app. maybe a small simple device with volume play pause next and previous.

    How old are your kids? I use Plex with mine. You can give playlists custom artwork so they can find the correct one

      Four

      they were able to use the music player on their electric ride on cos it had next and prev buttons when they were 2yo but then we upgraded to a bigger ride on which complex touchscreen and they lost that ability which they really enjoyed

      now they play a few games (for an hour or so on the weekend) on their tablets (which really were for using as a baby monitor) and they able to unlock and pick a game. So they could us a music player a bit maybe

    I might just have to build my own app then.

    I'll build it with Xamarin and with BingChat helping.

      but I guess they are either not free, or won't just play from the network share
