New Sony Alpha 3 Camera has dust particle when received on camera sensor

I recently bought a sony a7 3 camera from the sony store last week, and when it arrived. there was a noticeable big dust particle on the sony camera sensor when I opened up the lid. Although this camera is brand new, I did not expect any issues with it.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should do or whether sony provides compensations for these issues? many thanks

whether sony provides compensations for these issues?

Woah big boy, it's a dust particle

Did you try blowing it off with pressurised air/using a qtip?

No, no, this not how it works. You go ask for a refund, also for a compensating credit and also complain to ACCC and whatever other abbreviation you find out there that deals with consumer issues. Lastly, you do a chargeback on your card.

We can’t allow camera manufacturers to sell us faulty products with dust inside!!!

careful blowing things around as it's likely to stay inside the camera… eventually it might come back and end up on the sensor or somewhere else even more annoying

Show us a pic of the issue

    • If it is dust just blow it off. But that looks too big to just be dust.
if it is damaged then send it back.

Geez that's more than a dust particle, just brush/blow it off.

If its a scratch send it back.

      Simplez.

Ceo should fly out and blow that off himself, shame on Sony.

Take a photo of a white wall to see how much it's affecting the image quality.

Wonder what would happen if you returned it, like 99.9999999% of other adult people do.

But to be fair that looks like a 'post purchase ' consumer driven scratch to me.

    • It's not a scratch.

      • Well it's a really unique dust particle, then. Either way, issues with products are "go back to the source."

I’d probably avoid going near that camera. If you’re so worried about the dust you might get snowflakes all over it when you’re handling it.

  • Honestly, I'd be getting my Hoover onto that pronto and suck that bad boy right out.
