New Local Android Phones under $250 with The Following Must Have Features: 3.5mm Jack, Mirco SD Card, eSIM, 6GB Ram, NFC & Other

Hi Ozbargain Crew
Looking for a new phone and have just finished my some what "extensive" research and comparisons. Just dropping the info here to maybe help others that need the following in their next new phone.

These were must haves!
3.5mm jack
Mirco SD card (microSDXC)
120Hz display
Android 13
6GB Ram (8GB Moto)
Dual SIM
eSIM
Fingerprint (side-mounted)
Near Stock Android
5G
NFC: Google Pay, tap to pay.
Good Accessory support: Screen Protectors, Cases and Hard Covers etc.

(3.5mm jack, 90% of my calls out are made with a head set. I can not stand holding a phone while calling, because I can not use both hands while working or active. Thus, effectively have to mostly stop what I am doing. Grr!. Yes I know blue tooth headsets are good, but I have so many 3.5mm headsets.)

Motorola Moto G54 $239
Indigo Blue is vegan leather, Midnight Blue is plastic.

I put your criteria through gsmarena's phone finder and only Sony Xperia phones popped up…

  • 5000 mah not 6000

Yes, probably. But some people will want/need those features. As it took a while to find them. While being under $250, so I decided to share : )

How did it take a while? GSMarena is simple bro. You didn't even share what you actually bought lmfao

        • Yes GSMarena is good. But some my find it confusing using the phone finder. Also the price hunt can take time. I bought the Nokia G60 for Mum because of the Snapdragon Soc and the 3x3x3 Support.

@Captains Gun: do you think the 8gb in moto makes a difference in speed of the phone?

            • -1

@huntress_love: Yes, 8gb makes a huge difference for his Mum who makes calls and plays Words with friends

            • -1

@huntress_love: It might make a difference for some users. With maps open(lane guidance/assist on), Spotify playing, WhatsAppp and social media apps active, it can add up. Also we don't know the size of future Android OS updates and installs. Which might grow in size. So more RAM might make for a smoother experience.

Moto G54 was $199 on eBay yesterday. They may have more during Black Friday.

Esim + microSD is a rare combo I myself have just been chasing down. You have listed about the only phones in your price range, I almost went the g54 power. Further too that you can look at s20 series (although no 3.5mm). And the Sony Xperia 1 / 5 / 10 series. I just bit the bullet on my first 'expensive' phone purchase on the experia 5 v

    • which is the s20 nokia?

    • That is great, well done knobbs. The Sony Xperia 5 v looks to be an awesome peace of kit, enjoy it.
PS. Yes the chase/hunt for the simple extra features today can be a pain.
