½ Price All Sunscreen & Tanning - Cancer Council Face Daywear Matte 75ml $8 150ml $10 @ Woolworths

250

Woolworths has 50% off all sunscreens and tanning in this week's catalogue. A good time to stock up on your favourites.

Exclusions: Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration SPF50+ 100ml, Bali Body, b.tan, Dove, Prices Dropped, Low Price and products marked in store as clearance items.

The face suncreen leading OzBargain's favourite poll - Cancer Council Face Day Wear Moisturiser Sunscreen SPF50+ is $8 for 75ml or $10 for 150ml. For some reason the online listing is still showing $20 but clicking on the catalogue shows $10. Note that this is not water-resistant and is for everyday use. There is a water resistant version $8 for 75ml.

Another good one for normal to dry sensitive skin is Dermaveen Spf 50+ Sensitive Sun Sunscreen 250g. It has some water resistance and can be used on the face and body.

For those interested in comparing the Cancer Council Face Day Wear pink tube against the Ombra Daily Defence SPF50+ Face Moisturiser Untinted, here's a side by side list of ingredients taken from their ARTG listings. The latest Ombra has replaced 4-methylbenzylidene camphor sunscreen filter with a newer, more photostable filter bemotrizinol.

In case it bothers anyone, 4-methylbenzylidene camphor was banned in the EU in the second half of 2023. I am not sure if there is a scientific reason for it, as levels under 4% was considered safe for a long time, and the EU does tend to be a bit over the top (banning OTC retinol above 0.3%, for example).

Note that ingredients are listed by alphabetical order, not concentration. The sunscreen filters are on the top

  • So sunscreen is bad?

    • +1

How did you reach that conclusion?

      Short answer, no.

  • The 'Cancer Council Face & Body Moisturiser Day Wear Spf 50+ 150ml' is also scanning in store for $20 🤷

  • is there a clear zinc stick? I was looking for one but could not find it in store.

  • 150ml didn't scan as on sale

    • They have to sell it at $10 since it's the advertised price. You may even be able to get it for free if the product scans at the wrong price.

      • Ah. I should've done that but didn't want to hold up the line!
