Prone to getting moisture in the control buttons that sit inside edge of the door. Overtime the power button would stop responding due to moisture and degradation. We have had 2 that developed the same issue. So avoid this model or any model where the controls sit inside the door.

    • I think that's the SMS6HAI01A, whereas this model (HC) has a touch-display on the outside.

Edit: We had the exact same model in this deal. The controls are on the inside edge of the door and not on the outside. i.e. you can't use any controls without opening the door. Also, in my above comment, I meant control touch panel and not 'buttons'.

        • Just had mine delivered. Can confirm there are NO buttons on the inside edge of the door. Just touch-panel on the outside.

          • @freekay: When you say the touch panel is outside, are you able to control it while the door is closed?

So avoid this model or any model where the controls sit inside the door

So where is the control should be, I thought controls were always within the door?

      • Some models have controls on the inside edge (top side) of the door. So door must be in open position for you to select program etc. As per the image at least, it looks like this one has on the outside.

  • What is the difference to this model for $1,079 for E&S?. Link to E&S
SMS6HCI01A Vrs SMS6HAI01A, looks almost identical.

Fewer functions on the HA. No cutlery draw on the top. And not as water efficient (IIRC). Oh and buttons on the HA are internal, whereas HC are touch-display on the outside.

      • OK thanks for the explanation. I had missed some of those differences.

    • Appliance Online also have the HA for $1026

  • What is the most cost effective and reliable 60 cm dishwasher in these days ? cheaper the better as this would be a new install.

It depends on your preferences, budget, and if you value reliability more than cost. From past responses in the forums, Bosch has been an OzB favourite because of its strong reliability and relative affordability (compared to brands such as Miele). I recall Haier and LG having mixed responses as a budget-friendly option.

We have the under bench version of this (without the sides / top). Has been working now for 3 months and is flawless. Very quiet. Cleans fantastic.

    Quirks:
    * it does't seem to like finish rinse aid so well (regardless of setting). Almost like it is too thick vs other brands.
    * the front touch buttons are rather sensitive. Should you lean on it if any body part it can be prone to activating whatever random button just got pressed

Cleaning … we've found it cleans just as well with powder vs tablet (we tested sample loads). Once we consumed the bonus finish tablets we went back to powder i.e generic coles / ww / aldi

    YMMV

    • Is "we" here a regular family or a small restaurant or, IDK, other (semi-) professional facility? Ie. where is this testing coming from?

How it compares with Miele G5000? You can get one for $1200 ATM. I have a G4200I, very happy with the quality and service, no complaints

  • Does JB-HiFi price match Appliances Online? It looks like this model is out of stock in Vic on the website.

    • Should have said "do they price match, if it's out of stock in your state"

Managed to get E&S to do price match on this model for delivery in Melbourne after it was out of stock on Appliances Online.

i have been looking at this waiting for a BF deal as well. Something I have been trying to work out also and based on the comments above there is a bit of misinformation.

We have a HCI01A at work, it has external buttons only
Good guys have both the HCI02A and HAI02A for sale at the same price, both have external buttons only according to the pictures.

Looking through the compare on good guys website
HAI has HomeConnect, HCI doesn't (the bosch website has it listed as a feature on the HCI02A)
    HAI WELS = 5.0, HCI 5.5
Can't find much else besides maybe one or two programs different

Looking on the bosch website I noticed this when comparing all 4.

    HAI01A has internal buttons
    HAI02A has push buttons outside

    HCI01A has 'touch' buttons outside
    HCI02A has push buttons outside

HCI has its third rack as a 'vario drawer'
    HAI is '3rd rack'

    HCI eco uses 11L
    HAI eco uses 11.4L

HCI01 is the only model with a 'silence' mode listed and 5 wash temps, the others have 4. Bosch website does suggest the HCI02A has this feature and lists silence mode a few times.

I can't see the HCI01 for sale at GoodGuys currently, they only have the other 3. The HAI01 is about $400 cheaper as well probably because of the internal button problems as listed above

I hope all this scanning of features helps somebody else out

  • Thank you, OP! The e25 error code on my current Bosch of unknown age finally pushed me to having it replaced.

Just got a HCI02A from GoodGuys for $1200 + $55 delivery, had to call and barter on the phone.

So pretty much confirms this deal is a good price

    • Hi, Would I be able to get a copy of your receipt for price matching at Good guys please? email [email protected]

  • What about SMS6HCW01A. Is that just white variant of the Silver version? Thanks

      Yup
